Please keep this as optional indefinitely. I do not want to ever see this system as mandatory. Currently when things get hectic in game I can mentally filter out important stuff like who from my watch list just logged on from the less critical stuff like mail spam very quickly and easily prioritize.

The new system crams everything together in one place so regardless of what happens it all comes up in the same place. That means when **** gets crazy in game I can either ignore everything or stop paying attention to what ever craziness is going on long enough to figure out if something is important or not which is likely long enough to cost me a ship in some cases.

Different people have different visual skills. I for example can not read in my peripheral vision I need to be looking at something to read it. Also as a dyslexic it takes longer and more focus for me to read even a brief notification title. However a picture of someone logging on in my lower right hand corner with a standings icon and green name bar for log on and red for log off is something that I can keep track of.

I can easily ignore all the blinky **** on the left side of my screen until things settle down.

I can't say this enough please please please do not ever make this consolidated notification system mandatory.

As this is apparently the same team that brought us the tooltip fiasco, I'll ask a question here because it is being ignored everywhere else.....

Don't you think that you should follow up on a promise made by yourselves months ago (below), before carrying on with some other pointless crap that will probably end up half-finished like a lot of the new "features" ?

"....we will look at improving the experience with tooltips in later releases. In that regard we are looking at configuring tooltip behavior by category, which we think would allow for you to tune how tooltips display based on the relevance of the information to you"

Is DEVs still read this topic ?

I cant find calendar events.
As i see most people use mails for CTA or OPS.
But if calendar events will be shown in notification it will be more comfortable.

You can filter what shows up in the notifications center, even fine tuned to noobship notifications. I think the mail icon will still flash even if you have all the mail notifications turned off.

Thanks for spending so much time on the configuration options.

The implementation strategy in particular is most appealing, I wonder if it could adapted to support optional roll out (and monitoring) for the HD textures.

Good improvement. It may have already been mentioned, but can mail notifications be included in this as well.

This new system is tons better than having notifications buried in the mail client.

Does these notifications either get logged somewhere, or are they exportable? As of now it seems not, but would be great if a dev could confirm/deny.

Personally I think the icon is a bit to bright/to "noticeable".
It would be neat to have it in the neocon with the other buttons, or make it transparent or change its color.

Just enabled it, noticed I have 512 notifications, some of which were from over 3 years ago. Maybe it shouldn't show the notifications before the time it wasn't enabled as new objects. Sure, it isn't the most important thing in the long run but it's one of those little details that make things look more finished.

This post was rated "C" for capsuleer.

First of all:
I started to use this feature regularly and think its a great approach.
For example its perfect for checking for friends logins. And if you have it, you never gona miss a wardec message again (if you go out mining even if you know about war thats something different tho)

I have to say: those many customization possibilitys is amazing.

Downsides:
After you enable the feature you get notifications for pretty much everything that happens, which can be too much (thanks to customization thats managable tho.)

What starts to get on my nerves tho is the sound.
For example when finishing skills, the loved skill-training-completed sound (most loved sound in eve i guess) is horribly overlapped by the notification tone. the notification tone itself is pretty nice, but the mix is very unpleasent.
