When I was just getting started in trading a corpie who remains a good friend gave me a plex to sell and insisted I only pay him back half the value, and not until I was "set" isk-wise.

Found myself broke and without a decent ship to do much of anything with. Friend/corpie shoots me 500M isk, which bought a misisoning legion and an inroad to at least get more capital. Guy tells me not to pay it back, just buy him a carrier book when he can use it.... in 30 days, so I had plenty of time to more than make it back/.

Way cool. There have been other things, my 1st time out with bombers bar (the original bar) I died, everyone on comms was like "oh man, sux u died your first time out with us!" and SEVERAL ppl sent more than enough isk to replace my Purifier.

My ceo has done countless things for me. I'll edit em in later, I gotta go to bed :D

A few weeks ago I've made a donation to someone of 1b ISK. A few minutes later it turned out to be my alt Shocked Such a coincidence!

Seriously though, I think it's hard to say what the nicest thing I did is. I'd leave that up to the people that enjoyed whatever it was I did. The nicest thing others did for me? I think free lessons about the game are priceless. And next to that a bug report on the Custom Ship Labeler application by someone I didn't even know. Free of charge. Offered by Relnaya Paakh (once again thanks man!)

I just duelled and killed a member of P I R A T on the undock of Amarr with my 2mil SP sparring alt. Think I did all of EVE a huge favour today with that one...

They taught me how to kill my own kind, to enjoy being on fire, to enjoy EVE and not treat it like a second job.
I cannot go back now, and I am grateful for this.

Come hell or high water, this sick world will know I was here.

Non whiney, sincere non begging noobs that loose their (first) ships may from time to time get an isk donation from one of my alts.

As for being treated nice, an ex corp mate refunded a cap ship BPO a former CEO of us stole from me. (long story)

Or my first corp that picked me up and gave me +4's and 5's when I was just weeks old. Or gave me my first battleship (35 mil was a lot of isk) that I lost within a week to Concord unaware hat repping a rat makes concord cranky. Roll

My probes once expired while scanning my way out of a wormhole in a Prowler, after the connection back home had collapsed on me. Yes, this was before corp bookmarks, when scanning without bonuses was actually hard and slow, and you could still lose probes, the days when wormhole space still had some risks.

I had no spares because of derp, so I asked in local if anyone is there, and if they could leave me a set of probes in a can at the sun. Nobody replied, so I logged off. When I logged back a few hours later, there was a can at the sun with 8 probes.

I got out and sent ISK to the corp who owned the can, because they were awesome.

I received 5 million ISK from guy who killed me (the killmail was 2.5 million loss). We had a nice chat following the kill. Having had that discussion and some notes he gave me helped on next occasion so I could show two fingers to Proteus who wanted to kill me few days later. So I had my loss repaid twice, some advice and useful experience. Cool thing, right?

Loren Gallen took the time to discuss a fight we had and what I could have done differently. He's a hell of an incursus pilot and it was awesome for him to take the time to pass on some knowledge to a very very new player.

One boring afternoon my old corp was camping out static conection in our wormhole.

A legion jumps in, we try and fail to catch him. We wait for him to come back, as we only had on connection at the time. He jumps back, we follow (me in my proteus) and attempt to get takcle but he slips away (nulified + stabbed). I cloak up and sit on his wormhole while we decide what we want to do next.

In the mean time I get a call from my wife to ask if i can run to the shops to grab a few bits n pieces. I stupidly go afk in his hole, with my 1 bill proteus still cloaked up, no probes and my corp mates not knowing i was in there roll me out of the hole.

I come back from the shop to find the wormhole I was orbiting gone and then preceed to swear, alot.
Since i have no way of getting home i start asking for 1vs1 in local to at least lose my proteus in a dignified way.

The dude who we previously tried to gank convos me and says he wont fight me but if I am willing to wait he will scan me out an exit the next day as he was about to log off.

Having limited play time and more isk than sense i told him i didnt want to leave my main in a hole and that i would just SD the ship and my pod to get back to high sec.

He then says if i want i can leave my proteus in his pos and he will fly it out for me when he has a new connection the next day. i am dubious and since this is eve after all, there was practally no chance a prefect stanger, let alone one that i had previously tried to kill would not just keep the ship for himself. But I was gona lose the ship either way so i agree, telling him that even if he doesnt keep to his word i wouldnt have any hard feelings, he give me the password for his pos and fly my proteus in.

I o7, SD my pod outside his pos and get back to my wh in no time.

The next day i get a mail saying that my proteus was in a station in high sec and the contract was up (which include my corpse in the cargo hold \o/) and that he is a man of his word so wouldn't steal if he promised not to.
I send him a mail back saying thanks and that i couldn't believe he had done it. I also throw him couple hunderd mill for his trouble.

Was genuinley one of my most memberable experiences in eve.

Same, 5-10 mill might not be much but to a new player, it is.

When someone was leaving the game I jokingly asked "Can I have your stuff?".

Well, he gave me his stuff, and it was worth about thirty billion isk, between assets and cash.

I always ask now.

does anyone still honour ransoms anymore?

hell, does anyone even pay them anymore expecting it to be honoured?

as for me, i was gifted an Orca many years ago by an ex-corpie. told me i'd helped him more than i could know. still have no idea how i did....

still have the Orca.
