Scanning off-grid Boosters

Hello everyone!

I'm thinking of making a scanning alt dedicated to murdering every off-grid boosting character I can find. I am fully aware that most of them use eccm modules to make themselves extremely hard to find. Does anyone happen to know the exact numbers of what I'll need to find the ones maxing their eccm? I know there has been a recent change to make all ships scannable regardless of how low their sig radius is but I need to know that number.

I know there is a topic on GD right now about the ethics of using OGB and I would appreciate if we could avoid any mention of the legitimacy of their use. I'm trying to do the right thing and blow all the OGB's up!

Thanks!

(No one tell him that 99% of boost ships are just sitting on stations or gates ok....)

Lol Ibanez I'm fully aware of that too. I'll do whatever is necessary to get players with links out of the systems I want to fight in. If that means making them dock up, I still win.

I'd prefer to murder them however :p .

Anything that generates this much bloodlust cannot truly be that much of a bad thing?

That's the spirit OP!

I'd like to thank you in advance for giving my fleet an easy warp in to relieve you of your ship o7

You'll need a virtue set most of the time.

Though I've met some easily probable non-T3 boosters in open space (and even a cloaky ferox with T2 links once, and I have no Idea why you would be able to run T2 links and not a proper command ship), it's pretty rare.
Boosting commands usually sit on a station (no chance bar, maybe, a gang of blap nadoes) or orbit a PoS (those guys melt fast if you have 90% webs and some proper DPS, but patience is required, and it's not about scanning, but more about arranging a proper warpin for the fleet).

"Unprobable" T3s are usually built to require a virtue to scan them down (also, I can't emphasize hard enough that hanging out your combats dry and scanning step-by-step from 16 au for 2 minutes straight is NOT a proper way to scan ships unless they went afk for dinner. Please, please, please, use d-scan to narrow down the target location to at least +-1 au. Seeing combats on long d-scan for several minutes straight makes me extremely embarrased for being chased by completely incompetent pricks).

The smartest ones (well, those that don't use stations) put their booster on an edge of a PoS shield with zero speed. At least we failed to catch a booster legion doing this somewhere in provi several times even with a 5km warpin and several 90% webs, and while orbiting boosters were usually a close call even if we failed a hit, this one was always well safe.

It won't take that long to train all scanning skills and covops to V, you might finish your training before they nerf OGB

Don't forget about the ones that are just sitting on a WH!

It really doesn't take all that long to get probing skills to level 5 and pickup some virtues. I diverted one of my nag toons into probing because I wanted to try exploration and he'll be completely finished in another two months (including cyb 5 for implants, but that was on the list for the dread anyways).

Why do you think people would use links. That would be scrupulous and unethical. For shame.

The skill training isn't the hard part. The hard part is learning to flash scan.
