Smart bombing is fine as is...

It's not just him, there's a few others being completely original by playing copycat. I hope they are reading this because;

One way or another I'm gonna find ya,
I'm gonna getcha, getcha, getcha, getcha.

The upside to being podded this way though is that it halves the time it takes to undock a new ship, inevitably quickening the taking of the field.

So... you want to take a fun mechanic... that was recently featured in EVE's single most successful trailer in the game's history... and make it go away.

And you thought this would ever get off the ground?

If you are in highsec - have a neutral alt in your fleet. Problem solved.

If you are anywhere else - one neutral in local isn't a big deal. Ten neutrals in local command respect. Should you fail to show proper respect for the implied threat of a smartbomb deathtrap, expect to pay the price.

The first time I got killed like this something like eight years ago, I started warping to celestials before warping to gates in any system that I perceived to be a risk. I haven't taken any damage from a smartbomb in low-sec since.

PEBCAK

I wrote some true EVE stories! And no, they're not of the generic "my 0.0 alliance had lots of 0.0 fleets and took a lot of 0.0 space" sort. Check them out here:

I would prefer a new ship with bonus to using Smartbombs.

Possible counters:
Most commonly - Instahictor for those pesky stabs
Travel in a non smartbombable ship (Gnosis with that 1.some second align time)
Avoid low sec (Lame I know)
Bait them with a tanky wreathe and kill them
Think creatively, there are more.

None the less!; Smartbombing is more skill orientated. Was slightly easier before warp changes where you landed at the same speed. I think it is perfectly fine.

It is a low skilled high power weapon but isn't the first thing a player looks for. How many newbies do you see playing this card and getting hours of fun?

It also, like the weapon itself, is to scale. You have more people on the gate bombing such as rancer? Well, that will drag a larger eye to that target. Keep in mind you might want to fancy your smartbombs and suddenly you have 8 rokhs with imp navy bombs 100mil each that can be baited and killed with said instahictor and tanky bait wreathe. Scout to see what damage type they shoot, ect.

As a solo player and you encounter one bomber, you are less likely to die in an anathema with a damage control. (I lived)
Compare the skill to power ratio and then think of it as good or bad.

The more posts are made to the topic, the less relevance with the OP's problem is countered by players.
He is actually not asking any of smartbombing to be nerfed. He is telling that smartbombing is not penaltized as the same way as any other weapon system when decloaked, so they are a little bit more effective than intented.

Am I wrong? O.o

No your not, however, the creator of this topic clearly never has read the Cloak; it has a TARGETING delay after decloaking. And since you do not need to target for Smart bombs, drone assist, or fof missiles, cloaking has no effect on them and are working as intended. The combination of Cloaking and smartbombing is the same as the the combination of cynoing in and smartbombing.
Effectively cruel and fun, unless your on the receiving end.

There is one good thing however, with the reinstitution of fleetmembers beeing able to uncloak eachother if there within uncloaking range, makes setting up a trap like this, and the maximum amount of overlapping smartbombs more difficult, more time consumeing and less alpha.
