My first thoughts are do stations and gates count and how far do you 'spawn' from them anyway, don't know of the top of my head.

2y0,12k

I think that's the most condensed way possible. 7 char. Can't think how to knock it down more without losing information

Yes they do.

Gates, after you jump through them, you'll usually be a dozen or so km away. No problem.

For stations you start out inside the docking ring. That is the area of space around the station that counts as being zero km away and some stations have rather large docking rings. It may take a little time to get outside the docking ring depending on your speed. Once you are 2km outside the docking ring, you can cloak.

Undocking in low/null is tricky. Best to have an instawarp bookmark.

Best thing there is to learn about kickout stations and how to avoid them, then use your 30s invulnerability to spam ctrl-space to check out the undock and simply redock if it's not safe. 20s timer, 30s invulnerability, Perfect safety.

Don't fly with more than 1 Bill in a Freighter, etc.

Really expensive stuff goes in an Orca corp hangar.

Sorry but corp hangar in orca is scanable from more than half year.

Best way avoiding scanning cargo is use "double wrap".
You must use two toons. From first you must pack everything in cargo containers. After this all containers must be added in to courier contract.
If anyone will try to scan it will see only cargo containers.

Second thing: use second toon in frigate with web for speed-up align of heavy ships like orca or freighter.

Scannable by NPCs for contraband, not by Players for loot. And nothing in corp hangars can drop anyway, so it wouldn't be worthwhile to gank even if it could be scanned.

Double Wrapping is how you yell at the Gankers "HEY, HELLO IN THERE, I GOT SOME SHINIES HERE, THEY"RE WORTH SHOOTING ME FOR" (in the voice of Billy Crystal, ofc)

The Web thing works, but won't hinder a suicide gank in the slightest.

Cloaks and Haulers:
AS mentioned above, you will need to research cloaks a bit, but -

In Hi Sec, the cloak is not all that useful to a T1 hauler or a DST. You cannot warp while cloaked, and your speed is cut by 75 to 90% (depending on the cloak you use) and no other mods can be activated at the same time (afterburner, MWD, Invulns, etc). You can pulse them, turn on your cloak, and they will finish cycle, but then you cannot cycle them again.

When you leave a station, you are 0 m from the station, so cloak will not work. Insta-warp to safe spot (if you have set one up) is a much better way to go.

When you jump through a gate, you are 12km from the gate, so a cloak will work; however, you are painfully slow and need to de-cloak to warp - at which time it is just like you have jumped through the gate - you will get scanned/ganked/etc just as if you did not have a cloak (if that was their intent in the first place).

IF you KNOW that someone is 'after' you, or you are in a war dec and just HAVE to move something in a T1 hauler, you MIGHT benefit from a cloak. If you jump through a gate and only one or two war targets (WTs) are there, then you can cloak up and spend the next hour dodging them, if you are lucky. It is sometimes surprisingly difficult to get within 2000 m of a ship if it cloaks up right away. Most war dec gate campers are not expecting it and are watching overview (not the tactical), and will not see exactly where you were. Mind you, they will at the next gate, so just go dock up.....

In w-space, every hauler of every type should have a cloak. BR can warp and move regular speed while cloaked, which is a whole 'nuther game....

A DST with an MWD and Improved Cloak can, with practice, almost insta warp after decloaking. If you want to rely on it, you'll want to make sure you're perfect at it everytime, and then hope you don't get unlucky. Isk tanking is much more reliable in my book.

In short, don't be stupid:
Undocking from Jita with 3 hulks in a Badger II = stupid

But how would you know what is stupid? Just think like a ganker. What would you look for?

  1. Ships that have low hps (you can't get around this right now)
  2. Those ships that sit in a place for too long or autopilot
  3. Does the ship have stuff in it that would be at least greater than my loss? Ie, 200mil?

Always have a warp point from Jita or other trade hubs so you don't have to linger there bouncing around with the other ships to allign to a warp gate.

Don't autopilot

Put some sort of burst tank on your ship to stop solo ganks.

Yes, the MWD, cloak, uncloak, warp trick works most places, but takes some practice. Search the internet for details :).

Also, I suggest picking up all the racial industrial books if you plan to do any hauling in a WH or null. Train them up to 3, so you can pick up almost any T1 industrial.

CCP Dropbear linked a video in MWD+cloak trick..how to do it ? but I prefer EVE tutorial: Cloak - mwd trick
