I have played this game for years and I have no idea what this is. Can anyone explain?

People who fly in huge fleets in 0.0. They have buffer setups, so the only thing they need to do is warp with the fleet, wait for their FC to call a primary, and press F1 to shoot with their guns. People say it's boring and requires no skill, hence being called an F1 monkey

Basically, as Flaming phantom said.

They are the "Leet" PvP players in null-sec who's PvP knowledge goes as far as: Press F1, when I'm told to press F1.

Personal channel: Crazy Dutch Guy

Help channel: Help chat - Reloaded

Public roams channels: RvB Ganked / Redemption Road / Spectre Fleet / Bombers bar / The Content Club

And truth to be told that's also where trusting their skills in anything related to PvP ends.

See how every person answering the question up to this point are not part of this player group and will continue to reinforce the stereotype. Sure, there are people who only join fleets and do what they're told, but a large chunk of us "blobbers" enjoy small-gang PvP, except when it's against a linked garmur/orthrus.

You can try to counter their "F1 monkey" argument with any of the following:
- "elite" hisec pvp'er (gankers and hisec wardec station campers, this also counts as blobbing 95% of the time, so call them hisec blobbers)
- lowsec bads (people who sit in lowsec going "YARR PIRATES")
- NPC squatters (NPC null pvp'ers who just keep shouting from the refuge of their non-conquerable station at, usually, goons)

He... as a stupid sidenote;

Now and then I'm struggling with gettin some new players in my corp in some kinda-shape to be ready to at least follow commands and participate in a Flet... that bein said; I'm quiet suprised how much stuff there is to cover about the overview, movement, basic fleet-orders ect...

Also, over and over my jaw drops when I see that even guys that play for years don't know that kind of stuff.

On the other hand, I spent a good chunk of my free time with eve. If not by playing, then at least by reading forums, (dev-)blogs and EFT-Theorycrafting. Its easy to agree that not everyone has the time or interest to be involved like that.

So, what I want to say...
Neyt time you see a "F1-Monkey", remember; Someone worked hard to train that Monkey, and given the fact that the "Monkey" might consider EVE to be "just another game in the hobby of gaming" (opossed to "a full-scale hobby in itself"), that's not that bad at all.Blink

Slightly worse than a F1 monkey is a assign drone monkey. They fly an Ishter or Domi and assign drones to who they are told to. Saves on the many F1 presses.

These days you have slightly less of them since the max drones assigned to a single person is like 50. But only slightly.

AKA the scientist.

Death and Glory!

Well fun is also good.
