Need guide to set my MacBook Pro so I can play this game.

Was searching for a solutions for a long long time but seems like I have no luck at all, it was fairly and playable before but now it's horrific.

Computer I'm using
MacBook Pro 15-inch, Late 2008
Processor 2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Memory 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256 MB
Software Mac OS X Lion 10.7.2 (11C74)

1. QUESTION: Does EVE Online works at this platform? I've checked System Requirements doc and there states this is almost Recommended configuration not Minimum.

EVE Client Version: 7.20.326918 (326279)

My current EVE Online settings are:
Window mode
Resolution: 1344x840
UI Scale: 100%
Display Adapter: NVIDIA GeForce 9400
Checked to Use multithreaded OpenGL (tried without it also)
Present Interval: Interval One

Graphic content settings:
Checked Reserouce Cache Enabled and Load Station Environment
Rest is all set on LOW or DISABLED

All effects are turned off.

2. QUESTION: Is it possible that I get between 1 and 15 frames per second playing this game? Get jump lags all the time? 5-15 fps in station without CQ turned on just ship hangar, 5-15 frames when playing but mostly around 6 fps in fight.

3. QUESTION: Could you please provide me with step by step solution to configure this game to work?

Note: Also got heavy temperature (from 75 to 85 celsius) from time to time even though I have boosted my fans to maximum with SmcFC. When playing EVE I'm not multitasking any other heavy application (Browser + TeamSpeak) everything else is turned off.

Looking forward to your answer!

Thank you.

EDIT: Just to mention that it freezes like once every hour or two.

Buy yourself PC :)

Sry, just joking. really sounds like a config that should run eve on med-high with 60fps performance.

If you can log in, undock, see a fps reading, get into fights, etc, then by definition the game is working. Not working is you double click on the eve icon and nothing happens.

I got the 17" MBP with NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M, and I get 25 fps at best. The fps has been dropping recently with the client updates. In the mass test yesterday I got all of 0.7 fps in the fleet fight, with the client virtually unusable.

CCP: Can we look forward to any improvement in this situation? You add beautiful graphics that we do not get to see because we have to set everything low. You make a multiperson game, but if we try to do anything with multiple people the client gets so lagged out we cannot do anything.

Can we please get a Mac client performance buff? Please?

Edit: I suggest everyone who wants to see more Mac support do the sisi mass tests and give feedback in the feedback thread, and do bug reports. I'm the only Mac user with a report in that thread.

I have older 17" and this 15" ... Incarna was working fine though, was not freezing and was not acting so slow/low frame rated like now. After seeing clips on the YouTube of EVE Online frapsed by players, was wandering what game am I playing, because that was definitely not the game I'm paying for past years.

"Can anyone from CCP help?" For a Mac user????? Your kidding right?

After Incarna I spent two weeks trying to get an answer to wether or not the minimum system requirements had changed with the expansion either on the forums, through petitions, bug reports and emails. Eventually someone on the forums noticed CCP had just quietly changed the systems reqs on the website while everyone was asking but never replied to any direct inquiry.

And I have no answer to your question, just share everyones frustrations of CCP's handling of the Mac Client performance.

I'd love to be a tester for CCP but they simply don't care when you point out something. Game tester is a job position. I am paying for game, I'm a customer. Should I test for them and pay for it? That doesn't make sense.

Have you tried to maintain a working copy of SiSi on your Mac. Reminds me of Bamboo under the fingernails....YES, I do maintain a SiSi client 98% of the time.

This combined with the fact that the tests are almost exclusively EU TZ and i have a job, makes it impossible for me to attend.
