Reactor Array Pos in C1

Hey,

I want to setup a POS to be able to online a reactor array. A C1 or C2 with a HighSec static looks saver than low sec to me.
So I created this setup:
IGB POS Setup
It has balanced shield ressis and can hold 2 reactor arrays but has a huge lack of firepower and EWar.
We will try to find an empty WH, plan to stay only for a couple of days and then leave.
We're experienced in W-Space and know how to handle it.

Would you shoot such a low DPS POS (without Corp Hangar and SMA) or just leave it alone?

If it can be shot at, it will be shot at.

Towers gonna take several hours to haul and set up. You're not gonna want to tear it all down in couple days. Its total pain in the ass setting up towers

You might be right that a C1 can be safer than lowsec as there won't be anything bigger than a BC in that hole. However if you wish to run two reactor arrays full time you will need a lot of gases. Be prepared to have many a hole close after you just when you need one mor haul.

You can haul quite a lot into a c1 (roughly 20 to 30 trips of haulers). The difference is that in a c2, you can ram an orca through it, which will double your haul capacity (maybe triple), but you'll kill the hole with two orca trips.

C2 with orca, assuming 4 times the amount, can make 2 trips, which is 8 loads.
A c1 with a blockade runner can make 12 to 14 trips, which (let's say) about 13 loads.

The difference is time.

The problem is amount. Depending on what has you want to react, you may have to haul a freighters worth into the hole every 3 to 4 days. Some you can do maybe once a week. To figure that out, check what you want to react, check the amount it takes to react, and check the m3 of the gas (they vary from 1 m3 to 10m3)

If you want to do this you can, it's just a bit more difficult and a lot more work. This is the reason a lot of lowsec is full of pos's doing gas reactions. It is possible and people do do it. You may want to start out smaller if you aren't sure if it will work out for you. Do one reactor first and try it for a week. If you can handle the workload and want to do more, then add a second one.

Two reactors is doable in a caldari pos, but defenses are minimal (that's the trade off)

There is a misconception that you want Orcas to do hauling in wormhole space. My maths on this are developed here. Your average Mastodon is 80% of the orca's cargo capacity (excluding ore bay) and it is a poofteenth the mass.

Even assuming you have Transports 4, you can still get away with 55,000m3.

If you are doing gas hauling a Kryos is the way to go anyway.

You guys are also aware that you can find a spare moon somewhere in hisec to do this?

Has to be anchored in .4 or below.

The new haulers are much better now, but you still have to factor in the time to haul all that crap (it's easier now though, with 2 toons hauling 100k a run), it'll still take you roughly 45 minutes to haul in 1 freighter full of gas. Not terrible but not wonderful either.

It's a money making matter though so there will be some time investment.

Thanks guys for the feedback!

I haven't really considered the huge volume of the gas - maybe starting with one reactor is more fail safe. We can neither fly an Orca nor a T2 indy. So we rely on a good HS WH almost every day.

You don't need a t2 Indy as the miasmos can haul gas at roughly 55 to 63,000m3. Cost just a million vs the 200 million of the t2 hauler (and the t2 hauler hauls less than the miasmos).

Yeah I'm currently skilling Gallente Indy to level 4. This should be enough. Thanks again
