Industry V
Mass production V
Production efficiency V
Advanced mass production IV

That should get you started in T1 manufacturing :)

Regarding buy orders, those skills lower taxes :
Broker Relations V
Accounting V

Procurement would help you place remote buy orders,
Visibility if you want to increase range,
and possibly Marging trading depending on your cash amount.

You also want to build up some standings for the corp stations you'll be selling from. that will save a few pennies.

science skills and Spread-Fu 5

TO make tech 2 stuff you need to invent the BPCs for it from Tech 1 BPCs after you make the copies from your BPO's.
For this you need the appropriate science skills preferably at 4-5.

Does railgun ammunition come in Hollow Point?

Keep in mind that T2 isn't just about building stuff with ore. You'll need other materials, like stuff from PI or salvage for example.

As mentioned previously by Xearal, to make T2 items, you'll need to invent the blueprint from the T1 version of it. You will need appropriate science skills (typically tied to getting the datacores needed) for the item you want to create, and those skills will vary based on each item's needs. (That said, you might want to consider getting some research agents and farm your own data cores as well).

For example, if you want to make a Vengeance you would first need to invent the BPC from a Punisher BPO. To do that, you will likely need Amarrian Starship Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. You'll want Amarr Encryption as well. You can look at this site to get an idea of how each skill will affect your chances of being successful in the invention:

you would be wrong
I's suggest getting your google docs skills up as you will need them.

edit
when I say wrong - I mean you can make money but if you don't know what your doing with your spreadsheet skills or knowledge of opertunity costs etc is low then you will
a) not make money
b) depress the market even more
c) get pissed of because you don't seem to make money
d) ???
e) not profit

knowledge is power!

As Rattus said - T2 production is a great way to lose money if you don't know what you are doing - so don't assume just because it's T2 that you are going to make a killing.

Also... I've yet to come across a T2 blueprint that uses salvage but there are a lot of them out there right?
