That was seriously bad @$$. Watched it back to back several times and it's in my EVE Favs playlist next to AlienHands FF 2012 "We Are EVE" and Rnk's Clarion Call 4.

Yeah, this by far was the Best PR Trailer for Eve Online. I really wish I didn't miss the submission period. I will be looking to send in some Content.

Good Job CCP, props to everyone on this! Cool

Whomever said, "You only get one shot to make a good impression," was utterly wrong. I've made plenty of great impressions with my Autocannons 

I'm probably not the one to listen to on this as my opinion in most cases is 180 degrees from the norm on stuff like this but I did not care for this video at all. It jumped all around and made absolutely no sense. I don't know how you think people that have never played the game before are supposed to get a feel for it from this. It's just noise and confusion to me and I've been playing the game for coming up on 6 years.

Again I don't seem to experience life in general in the same way most people do Most TV and movies I can't watch which is why I spend most of my time in video games so I would take my opinion on a trailer for this game with a grain of salt but for what it's worth I think Rooks and Kings does a much better job as they explain complex things in a way that someone who has never played the game before can at least get an idea of what is going on. However some of their videos are over an hour long and I understand you can't do that in a trailer.

Anyway for what it's worth there is my two cents.

The video is not about explaining what EVE is. As you said, there are plenty of more instructive materials out there. But it is about how much fun we can have in the game. And it did a great job at capturing that. Brilliant!

I'm wondering is this video a product of the new philosophy CCP Seagull has been talking about in this presentation?

If so i have to tell you that it's working because i feel awesome.

Yeah, for sure this is due to Seagull's insights regarding the focus of CCP staff.

People can say whatever they like. Seagull has set out, in video, her thinking and her plan. It didn't just happen on her watch, it was her intellectual work that made it happen.

For those who haven't watched the video, it is pretty technical and high brow stuff. Seagull notes that CCP do what most organizations do, and focus on themselves first, by default behaviour. She gave the example of the intro to videos, and in the past it was always the CCP logo that came up first. She said she wanted to shift that focus onto the players, because in her view it is the players in the sandbox who find themselves most interesting. Again, by default of human nature.

It is rare to witness a new CEO actually apply their intellect and create something profoundly great. Jobs did it at Apple.

Eve is in very good hands.

yes trailer is made using game graphic engine maybe not CGI but i think the seagull story is polish as in making it look nicer not as in citizenship polish lol anyway, the trailer made a increase in trial accounts and people joining eve, OP not sure how this is related to the recon ships expansion but i think seagull is gone now and hope they do something about pendraising ships which are overpriced in contracts.

1. Eve need cinematic mode button like Star Wars: Empire At War.
2. Nop, this is not eve. you missed the 3 days interviews part to get into a corp and then you left out the 5 hours roaming around until you got the target and then you forgot to show the few hours it takes to get new ship.

But was nice non the less. We actually can see some space tables and hear some %% porno on manufacturing.

and out of all those guys there that miner using 2 Strip miners on same rock made me go wtf.

You're looking to deeply at the video and analyzing it as a player.

The video is all about people having fun playing the game. That's something people react too. In a hobby shop people often walk up and watch people playing Magic: TG or Warhammer, and while they don't really understand what's going on they can pick out generic themes and the fact that people are having fun.

Everyone I've showed the trailer too has thought it looked awesome, although the pipe bomb is something that I have had to explain to all non-eve players.

Overall it was a great video, and did it's job. It's not about getting bogged down in the details of the game, it's just people having fun doing whatever they enjoy.

Ya I didn't get that either. Maybe I'm not human. Thanks for the reply however.

I still don't understand it but thank you as now I at least have a conceptual explanation that I can wrap my head around.
