So yeah, basically can't decide between buying the new mac mini or macbook with Intel Iris graphics or iMac with Intel Iris Pro graphics. I would love to know how games, eve in particular run on both these graphic cards.

Thanks in advance.

Intel Iris Graphics is no good, get the 5K iMac with upgraded graphics card

Would love to see some 5k eve screenshots because I find it hard to believe eve will do the screen justice.

Basic rule is integrated graphics are for general computer use like browsing the web. If you want to play games get a computer with a dedicated graphics card. This is for both Windows and Macintosh computers.

Can Eve run on integrated graphics? I would say yes since "Intel HD 3000" is listed as minimum requirements. I wouldn't expect good performance at all.

TLDR: Get a Mac with a dedicated card like the MacBook Pro or iMac with NVIDIA 7 series grapics cards.

I run on a 28" UHD screen (3840x2180) and EVE doesn't look good in that resolution. Certain things won't render textures properly and sometimes things just don't render at all.

Might've been a display bug on my end, but it did fix itself when I went back to 1080p.

ALSO: the cursor, text, and menus on UHD are suuuuuuuuuper tiny, and almost impossible to see if you like to keep a distance between you and your monitor. I can't imagine trying to read anything on one of Apple's billion-dollar 5K screens.

You want a crazy EVE macintosh? how about a trusty mid-2012 edition mac pro tower, with nvidia gtx 980 video card, and drop a pair of crazy xeon x5698 4.4ghz cpu's in it. Only 2 cores each, but mega fast, and EVE doesnt use lots of cores anyway. :)

Mac Pro dual 6-core Xeon 3.06ghz, 24gig ecc ram, EVGA GTX 680 Mac Edition, Intel SSD, OS X Yosemite and Windows 8.1 Pro.

Thanks for the replies, capsulers ! After giving it some thought I decided that being somewhat space middle class doesn't make me middle class on Earth. After doing some math, i realized i would be spending 1500 Euros on a rig that is weaker GPU-wise than my current 700Euro asus laptop.

Hey dude,

I got a this before starting Uni.

MacBook Pro® with Retina Display Intel® Core™ i7 Processor, 16Gb RAM, 256Gb SSD, Wi-Fi, 15.4 inch Laptop - Silver.

The Laptop handled EVE with full settings without any issues, you might need to change the resolution though.

I use my laptop mostly for coding and other stuff and I can assure you that so far I haven't come across any issues with EVE.

Cheers.
