Yule Lads were humorous and entertaining, and I think last Christmas was the best EVE Christmas so far. I really hope they come back, because this style of dark humor is pretty awesome, and definitely in the spirit of this game.

Of course, I'm not surprised that so many are so angrily against this, seeing as how the player base is now almost entirely composed of people who ask you for your address in order to "come over to your house and beat the **** out of you" after you steal some of their ore, or shoot their ships. All they want is a simple button press that dumps a gift ship into their hangars, which they can proceed to sell as quickly as possible in order to buy the next month's PLEX and a few extra strip miners.

I wrote some true EVE stories! And no, they're not of the generic "my 0.0 alliance had lots of 0.0 fleets and took a lot of 0.0 space" sort. Check them out here:

My prediction for the Christmas 2014 present from CCP:

A propaganda-style poster of CCP Seagull pointing toward the unseen horizon, whilst a fleet of Feroxes plies the stars above her.
Below, the faces of CCPs Fozzie, Guard, Gargant, Rise, and Falcon, stone-faced against the challenges of the future, with DUST mercs rushing towards an objective at the very bottom.
The words "Violence Their Boats, For Freedom!" bannered across, in bold and inspiring font.
Digital versions for our CQ's, and IRL versions for our computer room.

The most amusing thing from last year was people whining about the free Leopard and how it was useless and why didn't they get proper freebies :D The thing still sells for close to 100 mill in most hubs.
