Marmites have killed many players in 2014. Xmas is coming and then a lot of us get all soft and fluffy. So, I want to give away a vindicator and a faction cruiser to someone who lost a ship or pod to Marmites this year, but dont know yet how I should organize this.

I was thinking of creating an alt and have people send a mail with just their loss mail in it and then randomly pick 2 of them. But maybe someone has a better idea how to handle this in a simple way.

It doesn't matter if you are still a current war target or not, it's a game and we should all be able to win something fun Blink

EDIT :

I found a guy who'll collect all the mails. Smile

* Marmites (alts) are not allowed to enter. If you do, we'll have a chat about our alliance slogan.
* Send a mail to the player "Sem Tex" with a lose you had against Marmites in 2014.
* Sending more then one mail will get you disqualified.
* The contest ends at 31th of December and the prices will be contracted to you in the first week of 2015.

The amount of data could be huge depending on activity though.
Setting up an alt would be the way to go I guess.
Set up API Key, collect the mails, have them processed in whatever script seems suitable and list the results in an array (ID/Charactername should be enough for this purpose).
Obviously you should make sure to get rid of spam by filtering out multiple mails/spam/empty mails within the script.

When the deadline is due just let a RNG pick 2 pilots from the array. A final check for the validity of the lossmail (draw another number in case it's missing/fake) and there you go.

If I was more into the API coding I could code it for you but sadly I have close to 0 experience with API, maybe someone else can help Blink

May break it down even to weekly, but I really wouldn't know how to do it effectively.
