Small Beginnings

I've been grinding away at the career agent missions and Sisters of EVE mission arc and relatively little to show for it. A couple million ISK here and there was not going to kick start any career in PvP, and loot dropped from duels was paltry. I decided there must be a better way. I went out and began searching for an easier way to fund my future life of crime.

I happened upon some ice miners in my search and noticed a veritable bounty of cargo cans jettisoned with a buffet of ice and ore. It was the day after Thanksgiving and I can only surmise that they had taken thier fill and emptied these leftovers for those less fortunate. So I snagged up a Miasmos on the market for 1m (ouch, almost half of my wallet) and headed out to the feast amid a swarm of drones and Skiffs. One can, two cans, three cans, four! Oh my, what a find! I dropped my ice at the nearest station and went back for more. Alas, the feast was adjorned and a Nightmare was awaiting my approach and promptly relieved me of my recently purchased ship and pod (rookie mistakes).

I lost around 3m in the ordeal, but netted 14m from the ice for a 11m profit. Considering this was almost 5 times the amount that I previously had, I awoke in my new clone with a smile on my face and visions of improving this little game. I just bought another Miasmos...

Thanks for the support! Not even one hour and two systems later, I raked in another 20m + from jet-canning miners. I'd say that I've been doing it all wrong for the past month! And to think, a day old player could be doing this to make 25m+/hour...

Steal everything that isn't nailed down. I love trade routes during prime time, I've made at least a couple hundred mil off gank targets over recent months. My suggestion: learn Salvaging V and always put a Salvager II in a spare high-slot (if you have one); you never know when you'll come across a tech II wreck while trawling for scraps.

A professional astro-bastard was not available so they sent me.

The salvager II is good advice. Especially if you work around systems where code agents frequent. And they are always happy to receive Intel on miners who aren't at their controls.

Everything in EVE is a trap.

And if it isn't, it's your job to make it a trap...:)

That was a good read, I enjoyed it. Someone should send the OP some money or something. I would, but I just spent everything I had on my 8-billion-ISK incursion-running Vindicator.

I wrote some true EVE stories! And no, they're not of the generic "my 0.0 alliance had lots of 0.0 fleets and took a lot of 0.0 space" sort. Check them out here:

So, you picked up 4 cans of ice and then a Nightmare was waiting for you when you returned, which killed your ship and pod. Hm..

A fresh character with obviously, Gallente Industrial I-3, picks up between 27.500m3 and 110.000m3 of cargo, what doesn't fit here?

Just over a month, cargo expanders and probably not completely full cans made this possible.

OP: EVE needs more newbies like you.

So many people waste good ships like the Miasmos transporting things from one hub to another when they could be used far better by someone not weighted down by morality.

I hope you continue losing ships in ways that benefit you.

BeBop's offer is legit, if you ask, he will answer. He's good like that. Course pretty much anyone who has posted in this thread so far would be willing to offer tips and tricks to help you along your way.

As a tip: myself and several friends mine ice in Procs/Skiffs with points (warp disruptors) fitted. Since cargo room isn't a major concern on a Mia, fitting a few warp core stabilizers wouldn't be the worst idea in the world.

Just in case, ya know.

EDIT: After looking at your killboard, I see you started fitting the Mia. Excellent. Please excuse my previous comment.

Great read, and good luck. Take up the CODE agents on their offer. They can show you how to have some good, dirty fun.
