Probably not, but your spelling sure does. Blink

who gives a **** about spelling, either you have one opinion or another, im sure as hell there are thousands of miners willing to ban hulkageddon becuase it is literally 'griefing on a mass scale' and not giving any profit to those who have successfully ganked since they will be to busy dodging concord or getting killed themselves.... so why not save everyone the time and money and make more tournaments for those dumb ass pvpers who got nothing better to do but use the miners hard work against them.

by the way, without miners, all you PVPer's would be comatose....

Actually more than half of the minerals in EVE come from reprocessing mission loot. And more than half of the minerals that come from miners come from bot miners. So if all you losers leave us alone, we'll happily gank each other.

That's right, I said it. Now go away and play something else.

Get rid of all miners and mins only double in price (assume constant demand). Gigg-Gitt-Ty. Now that is a sexy, well designed and balanced economy. Roll

Ya know Tippia, you are a well respected poster on these forums, but this time, you got it wrong. ONLY in theory are miners PvPers because it is quite true that there is no safe area where you can avoid destructive actions by other players. In practice, miners are NOT PvPers.

Many posters have valid arguments. Let's examine:

In favor of the "play smart" crowd : For Christ's sake dude, tank your Hulk!!! I do on my two accounts and we fly with Orca Support from a corp mate. Only the most determined gankers take me/us out. Most of the time they don't even get me into armor. Pathetic losers who don't know how it works. Maybe we are practice targets ... maybe they are just stupid. Tanking your Hulk makes for a more difficult kill ... common sense.

In favor of the hardworking Hi Sec CareBear : why is a Hulk killmail so sought after? Placing a Hulk killmail on your resume should be embarrassing. Gank-tuned-build versus wimpiest ship in the game - this garners ePeen? I think the values are skewed. As an employer, I look for real killmails :: real kills. Come to me in lo sec, scan me down, bring your budz, and if you get a kill mail, then that would be worthy of placement on your resume. If all you have on your resume are Hulk kills, you seriously NEED to STAY in hi sec. Or, come to lo sec, try to scan me down, bring your budz, and we'll see.

Recently, my corp was WarDecced after the Deccing corp ganked some of our newer Retriever pilots. I suppose they thought we were a bunch of noobs. We grouped up in a 0.2 system and started sending trash-talk emails. They never showed up then allowed the Dec to expire. So, um, were they afraid to attack us in lo sec ? But they claim fame by killing Retrievers? Cowards and losers. So in the end, we continued our hi sec operations unhindered by interference from losers who call themselves PvPers.

I would think that real PvPers would keep the cowards and bullies in check just to make sure an honest standard of PvP is maintained. In my dumb azz opinion, the real PvPers are in lo sec - and watch out for them if you are by yourself !!! PvP in lo sec is the real deal. These people who gank Hulks in Hi sec and call it PvP are pathetic cowards with no clue of how to earn a real killmail.

Except Tippia is right.. Regardless of what someone wants it to mean or what they feel it means, PvP means Player vs Player. It doesn't have to involve combat whatsoever. If they mine and just junk everything they get, then sure, it wouldn't be PvP. Any time there is competition between 2 or more players, regardless of combat, it's PvP. And being an MMO, that easily happens.

Not all PvP results in a killmail. Every piece of Ore some miner mines (and delivers to market/doesn't buy off the market) devalues those mineral markets slightly, hurting the value of stockpiles other miners and traders hold.

Players hurting the economic interests of other Players. Sounds like PvP to me. Really, Really boring PvP, but PvP nonetheless. (BTW, this is the main thrust of the Goons Ice interdiction. Shoot everyone in the wallet. Ganking miners is just their means to that end.)

Right. So the next time I make a really good sale of minerals, I'll put it on my resume for a job in a PvP corp.

You guys are stretching the definition of PvP with layers of abstraction removed from what PvP has always meant.

Let's make sure we know the difference between hi sec gankage, aggressive market activity (meaning blowing up your competition), and the real PvP that happens with WarDecs and in all systems 0.4 and below.

Real PvPers may take out a Hulk as a target of opportunity. But they have REAL kills to their credit. They have calm mental focus, perfectly tuned ships and a mastery of the game to do what they do. Killing Hulks in a Dessie? In hi sec? Give me a break ... It's a formula of alpha versus Hulk tank versus Concord arrival time. It's not PvP, it's SvS (stupid versus stupider).

Can't tell if troll or just trash carebear.

Ya know what, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.

I have an industrial character that can help out your mining corp, and I know how suicide ganks work. I can help you deal with them if they're that big of an issue.

Shoot me a line in game.
