Ways to fix the Character Creator that requires virtually no effort

I've had some complaints about the Character Creator and clothes in general for a while now. Since Rhea's looking so awesome to begin with I have a few suggestions that would really help.

  • Add "Bottoms, extras" category to the check if the character is wearing bottoms. What's the point of tights if you have to cover them up to use them? The Rocket Dress, which came out with the tights, doesn't count as a bottom and can't be used with them appropriately. Ideally just take out the damn check, we can use profanity and scam people freely but god help us if someone runs around in their underwear in the most grown up MMO there is.

  • Populate the NEX store with all colorations of all items. The market entries are there, the assets have already been created and tested. Why create something, expose it to players and then never make it available? This is free money at this point.

  • Bring back the accidental black backgrounds. It really didn't look bad at all when everyone's characters were rendering without backgrounds, it won't hurt anything if it's an option. Maybe throw in a few other solid, dark colors.

  • [*] Make the character stop moving in the Portrait step, or at least stop blinking every three seconds.

While we're on the subject, can we please have the ability to purchase starter clothing from other races? I would love to see Minmatar in Amarr robes or Civire all punked-out Gallente style.

Really the only thing I'm concerned is with releasing the rest of the clothes. It's just a constant reminder of the failed deployment of WiS. The Nex store overhaul was wonderful, and it's been a long time due to finish this small job.

Ugh it's so frustrating, it's such a tiny, tiny little itty bitty thing to implement because most of the work's been done already. This stuff is there, perpetually out of reach, just because no one got around to making things available.

I want to take a moment to remind OP - and everyone else - that EVE has a PEGI-13/T rating and having people roaming around in their underwear would probably violate that.

Swearing and scamming is covered under "online interactions not rated".

You should have enough control over your herd of cats to make them understand. If they constantly make misstakes, get better cats.

-1 to everything new for the NES. CCP already receives enough money from subscribers.

My ridicule, heavy criticism and general pale outlook about your or CCP's ideas is nothing but an encouragement to prove me wrong. Give it a try.

Um yeah... go look at some of the recent crop of movies/television shows that share similar ratings. People walking around in their underwear is pretty sedate compared to that crap.

Another thing that should be pointed out is that the Carbon character creation engine was released feature incomplete - in terms of hairstyles and clothing, it was a strict downgrade over the stuff we had before because, simply put, CCP didn't put in all the old clothing, hairstyles and decorations that characters of various bloodlines used to have. Some examples:

    - Civire still don't have their iconic shoulder-machines
    - The crazy headwear that Jin-Mei used to have access to isn't there
    - Intaki don't have access to the variety of hoodless robes they used to wear
    - Intaki males don't have access to long hairstyles, which was a defining characteristic of their visual identity
    - Ni-Kunni don't have their vaguely wickerwork looking clothing
    - Sebiestor, Brutor and Vherokior don't have the various tribal clothing and decorations they used to have
    - Minmatar in general don't have access to the wild, unkempt tribal hairstyles they used to have
    - Gallente don't have their crazy half-transluscent clothing
    - Gallente have two choices for crazy hair colour (bright blue and bright red) instead of the dozens they should (hey, here's a crazy idea - bright green, given that green is the Gallente Federation's defining colour?)

More egregious and insulting, however, are the things that we had to wait three or so years to have returned to us, and we now need to pay CCP actual money for:

    - Gallente female transparent headpieces - that don't even look as good as the old ones!
    - Amarr female blade headpieces
    - Amarr and Caldari skullcaps

    Seriously, CCP, what the hell?

Maybe you haven't been watching your television enough or perhaps you aren't an American, but in my country video games are scrutinized much more closely unless the content in question involves blood and gore and generalized ultraviolence.

Anything remotely sexualized - or anything that could be misinterpreted as sexualized - is more-or-less alright on TV (movies can generally do whatever they want) but to have it in a video game is much less accepted, especially when your game rating is the lowest it can be without having an "E for Everybody" rating which really doesn't allow... anything.
