Just a question and wanting feed back. Is it viable? I know sleepers switch target or at least used to so will drones work? I've looked at various fits any suggestions?

The astero is an ideal platform for the newly introduced KS relic and data sites in wormholes.
However, I believe you are considering the original sites occupied by sleepers.

The Astero will find the sites rather interesting, and short.

Whilst it MAY be possible to complete a C1 relic or data site in one, I do not believe it can be honestly recommended.
The Drone aggro in the lower class sites will possibly be manageable as the astero bonus to hitpoints will prove useful.
But It will keep you busy managing them.

The issue is more one of handling the damage applied to you.
Any site involving sentry guns will lead to a swift podding, carefully investigate the damage applied by each site and triggers before attempting them , and players have reported losing small ships before they have even realised they have left warp. People have managed C1 and C2 sites in assault frigates, in a group, but I am not aware of any reported attempts solo that have ended well.

I hope that is helpful, it is not definitive, in my opinion it would not be an ideal ship choice, but if you successfully manage it would be interesting to know, as few have probably reported their successes, if any.

I would however recommend the Stratios for this role, As a first step into wormhole space, it will enable you to survive, hopefully long enough to learn the sites, and just how mich harder sleepers are than you may have experienced to date. (I still suggest you avoid sites with sentry guns)

And please remember that the Sleepers will not be the only thing you encounter, Players strike even harder, Dscan every few seconds, and if you see probes, or a ship, it will not be friendly.

Thank you for the response, I've come to the same conclusion. Don't try it in a astero lol

Good luck, there are a lot of more suitable ships, but it is fantastic for the new relic and data sites we recently got. They are basically the Nullsec ones without a need for NPC combat fits. The astero is fast, slippery and very effective for these. welcome to wormhole space.

OP may want to clarify what class he is aiming for. A stratios won't get you very far in a C3 data or relic sleeper site solo....

This is true. I almost lost my Stratios to a heavily infested relic site last night. It spawned like 7 cruisers on top of my ship. I couldn't tank them all and had to leave.

But, I've beaten other sites. Isn't there a sleeper difficulty guide for data/relic sites somewhere? I seemed to have lost the link because I just came back to the game. I remember seeing on based on the name convention of the site determining the difficulty rating of the npc's and not just the wormhole class?

Anyways, to the OP, you're going to need something a bit bigger. The Stratios is a good ship that can cloak, scan and hack for you. The dealing with trouble in the sites is where I've found that most people turn the ship down. It simply is not as good as any of the T3's from what I understand. But, at the end of the day, if you can tank what, 900+ DPS, it doesn't matter what ship you're running. You will be in a good spot.
