change to logi ships

the scimi and the oneiros both have a drone buff on their hulls.

scimi 20% per skill lvl for shield bots

oneiros 20% per skill lvl for armor bots.

I suggest that both should be changed to just 20% per skill lvl for logistic drones. The reason for that is that those particular bonuses are rarely used to their full extent. I personally being mostly a logi flier have never used shield bots on my scimi. they do not come close to even adding up to 1 shield repair. i would rather use a armor/ hull drone just in case the person i was repair dipped below their shield line.

If i was flying the oneiros i would want to use hull drones for the same reason.

So i state simply change shield/armor bots over to a 20% buffer to logi drones in general.

Make logi drones worth using? Preposterous. What next, ewar drones?

While you may be somewhat right when it comes to the Scimitar (4 medium and 1 light T2 shield bot equals around 76% of a single large repper), the 5 medium armor repair IIs an Oneiros can support are the equivalent of a little more than 91% of a large armor repair.

Anyway, not supported as this is a nice niche that the Exequror and Scythe fill (with precisely this bonus).

look at it another way,

large reps on T2 logi are so powerful not even their double bonused drones add up to one repper. The exeq and scythe do use logi drones because they are a bigger deal for medium reps.

though t1 logi do the same with their hull bonus on medium reps.

my only thought was give the ships slightly more utility. give a use to a hull upgrad that is rarely used. and based upon figures a t2 rep commpared to drones is 50% more from what i can tell. you have to remember drones are every 5 seconds, t2 reps every 4.5s.

I just look at the effect of a single repper on tank versus drones in EFT. The armor might be a couple percentage points off depending on how it deals with shields, but that's it.

So, in other words, no, I don't :P

Edit: I'm actually looking at meta 4 large armor reps, which are much more commonly found on T2 logis. Those have a 5s cycle time.

Bringing an armor logi to a shield fleet and vice versa doesn't really make sense

It makes sense if you have someone slowly bleeding into their remaining buffer through their primary tank, but managing to rep substantial amounts of secondary tank would make it even harder to kill ships with logi support.

but bots arn't really that effective with this buff anyway. not to mention it takes a minute for them even to reach their target to apply the reps.
