Hey,

every wiki and site i find states that the current formula for effective quality is:

Effective Quality = Base Quality + (5 * Level of Negotiation) + Effective Standing

http://www.eve-wiki.net/index.php?title=Agents#Effective_quality
http://wiki.eve-id.net/Equations#Mission_Equations

But that there are no sources for that kind of information and with the change to 20 (base?/effective?) agent quality it remains unclear if the effective standing, still changes your effective quality.

A possible way of making the change would have been to just remove the variable Base Quality und put a 20 into so the current formula does look like that:

Effective Quality = 20 + (5 * Level of Negotiation) + Effective Standing

But there is a post which states that this is not the case from a dev:
http://www.eveonline.com/devblog.asp?a=blog&nbid=2316
Quote:
Now, all agents in the game will have an effective quality of both -20 and +20

This Post says, that they didn't change the base quality, but the effective quality.
This would mean that you get the same reward from those both agents:

Agent1:
Systemsecuritystatus: 1.0
lvl: 1
effective standing: 10

Agent2
Systemsecuritystatus: 1.0
lvl: 1
effective standing: 0

Links added, since there is no other way to change color :(

As he goes on he says this
Quote:
[quote][...]every agent will pay out rewards as if he or she had a quality of +20[...]

Now he says, that the (base) quality has been changed... which would mean that in the example above you would get more reward at Agent2 due to the formula of the effective quality.

So my question is, did CCP set the effective or the base quality to 20 when they did made the change?
If they did just substitute the formula for effective agent quality with 20 does the negotiation skill still work?
Is the Effective Quality formula still up to date?

Hello,

The dev blog should actually say "all agents in the game will have a base quality of both -20 and +20". So the formula you referenced is still in effect; the base quality of all agents is assumed to be 20.

Hope that clears up the confusion somewhat.

Thank you a lot.

Both things effective quality and (base) quality are pretty similiar from their spelling, but as you know as a developer makes a difference, so thanks for clearing that up.
