A send message from the sleepers

Greetings,

A message has been received in the AJ mailing list. This message was send by Anoikis Entity.

It was translated by Taraki Orani and Jon Hellguard and in line of the content of the message I publish it here

The message has the header of: We have returned.

The content of the message is:

We are what your capsuleer community knows as Sleepers (not entirely correct name, but we will go with it for now as it is already deeply ingrained in your consciousness).

We are watching, we are waiting, and we are returning now.

Watch your step, capsuleer!
We are deeply disappointed with what you are doing to our children.

We were patient and passive for too long - that changes now.

You dont know, what you have done.
Now it is our turn.

This puppet-unit will timeout in 14 day-units, but our collective is getting ready.

This is your sole warning.

I'm assuming attempts have been made to verify the origin and veracity of this particular message?

It seems somewhat atypical of Sleeper behavior.

Then leave them alone!
Why do you need these wormholes? Even CONCORD guy was telling they are bad.
Did you hear it? They are giving us only 14 days! After that.... I don't know what happens, but definitely something not good!

Tsk-tsk-tsk, ta-ta-ta. Are thay wagging their finger at us? I was expecting something more from a... higher form of life. If it's not fake, that is. Which I believe it is.

Funny how the aforementioned Anoikis Entity seems to be a recent Academy graduate.

I also hereby state I am in no way responsible for dilluting any Drop we're feeding Federal kids with. Let's blame it on imagination running wild instead, hm?

Sounds like a sorry childish attempt at sounding ominous. The author's phrasing sounds just like a teenager trying to write a villainous speech for a holoreel fanfiction.
There are some spelling mistakes too, but I wouldn't know if these are failures in the translation process or mistake by the original author before encrypting the message.

Anoikis is a wonderful environment and many capsuleers, including my family, have called it home for many years. Sleepers are generally the least of one's worries.

Sleeper drones have never held much interest for me, however. We generally leave them alone so long as they reciprocate. Sadly sometimes it's inevitable that they end up caught in the crossfire between capsuleers though.

Dusette-haani, I still believe that it is fake, bogus. Someone's joke. There is nothing to be afraid.
On other hand, there might be something to be afraid of. There are signs of them coming into our space. And probably not for communicating to us and not to warn us...

I'm not scared of any entity that can't spell "watching" properly.

The only thing in Anoikis that scares me is Jack Miton.

Thankfully though he's on my team and, last time I checked, one hundred percent human.

A potential sleeper incursion into Empire amuses me more than anything. As I grow older my disdain for many parts of Empire's society only seems to grow, so to see people there being harassed or intimidated by these drones gives me a lil chuckle. Really, they're not so bad.

Agreed. Can we get some kind of verification please?

Well whether fake or not, we should not take this softly, nor we should underestimate the Sleepers.

Like Pr. Gehen said previously, Those who underestimated the unknown paid the price heavily during the Battle of Vak'Atioth.

We should just take lessons from the arrogance of Amarr.

Assuming this is a true communication from the Sleepers:

Observations:
Stanzas 1-3 point out the writer's attempt to establish identity. Setting itself apart from the audience. "You" and "your" being used.

Stanzas 4-5 show a distinct break in reasoning, and suggests a motive for the writing. This individual is feeling threatened. Continued use of "You" and "your". Note the singularity in this, as opposed to "Our" in reference to self.

Stanzas 6-7 suggest dire consequences without naming what these consequences are from. Reference in Stanza 3 to "our children", without specifics. Contrast this with Stanza 1 attempting to clarify the writer's identity.

Overall this points to the writer seeing itself as above the reader.

It is not directed at the Capsuleer community as a whole. It is clearly directed at an individual. If this is indeed the Sleepers, then there is likely very few potential individuals that this is targeted towards. Fewer who would be specific to the Arek'jaalan mailing list. Only one that has recently made specific action in relation to the Sleepers:

Hilen Tukoss.

Further analysis:
"Children" reference could suggest Jove involvement. Capsuleers are referred to as "children" in many Jove reference materiasl. Why would Sleepers reference children being mistreated? Simple. This is not a warning to not attack the Sleepers. It is a warning to stop mistreating their "children".

Possible alternative identities of these "children":
Rogue Drones. Technological similarities to Sleepers.
Sansha's Nation.
The Jove. Note: Hilen Tukoss has recently made requests for Jove remains.

Ah, a proper linguist. What a pleasure to read. One thing though - there is an opinion that Mr. Tukoss didn't ask for the body parts and was impersonated by someone.

This is why I emphasize the name with italics. All recent communications from Hilen Tukoss are suspect. The identity of the individual(s) in question is of no importance; the fact that they are currently using the identity Hilen Tukoss is. As we have no other name of reference it is as good as any, non?

Awesome read and very interesting point of view.

can I ask you something else though. As a linguistic, can you see and bond or relation between this and Seven Events of the Apocalypse

Call me paranoid but I deeply think that, based on the sleeper foundings, and the connections between prophecies and jovian-sleepers along with the Sanhsa invovlement, I pretty much sense that we will witness a great event...

I have never been a religious person, and I personally disgrace it, always find the scientific way more efficient for solving the unknown but with the recent events made me confused

I have an impression that whoever wrote this fake meant the Sleeper drones by "our children". Seriously, a timed Galnet access with a fake student profile attached? Kids those days, lol. (Of course, of course, I know that I did exactly the same thing once, but I was drunk *and* stoned at that moment and even then I didn't impersonate a Sleeper, I just sort of tried to talk to them. Sort of. Never mind.)

But the fact that it's a fake is irrelevant. They are already here, in K-Space, and they *are* awakening.

And I am going to tell them again the same thing I once told to the Sleeper voices in my head, lol.

...Look at us, wise and ancient alien spirits. We are blind, irrational, unthinking locust swarm. We will dismantle and salvage you. From the pieces of your shattered dream world we will build more toys for each other to break. Whatever you are going to do - bring it on, dying will be fun. Please do your best to exterminate us.

Screw you.

Hehe.
