There are better ways to make ISK than mining. Check the Making ISK guide for some pointers.

As for the CODE posters in this thread, you should read their manifesto before considering any of their "advice": http://www.minerbumping.com/

2 alts is 2 plex => you can have nearly 2 billion per month instantly OR as a new player you can grind maybe 30 hours per account to make the same isk. So go work 30 more hours IRL, get at least $250+ and buy PLEX.

Mining is exceptionally boring and will make you the target of predators, including (but not limited to) my alliance.

My philosophy is that you should only engage in wealth generation activities that you actively enjoy in-game. Mining is probably second only to hauling in boredom.

I see you are in a player corporation. Are you aware that CONCORD will not intervene if you attack one of your corpmates in highsec? You might just be able to ransom one of them for a couple hundred million ISK to get yourself started. If they fly mining ships you can attack them with just about anything, if they are flying battleships, you want something small that is too agile for clumsy battleship guns to hit, and either way you want a warp scrambler.

I support the New Order and CODE. alliance. www.minerbumping.com

Well I actually wrote he should tank his ship, never mine AFK and purchase a mining permit. This was considered off-topic and got removed. Go check eve-search

I think I would have quit EVE years ago if I had to work in-game rather than have fun.

The monthly fee for an account is about the same as one cheap lunch at a restaurant.

I have 5 annually subscribed accounts. As hobbies go, EVE costs me less than others have.

Would like you to take me out to a cheap lunch at this place you frequent pls.

To the newbro, miners in k-space get ganked (often by your Codebro and his friends) fairly frequently. Ore Miners in W-space get ganked far more often. Gas miners in w-space however are tough as all hell to catch when they use the right ship - that would be the Venture or the Prospect - and you can train the necessary skills on the two chars you already plan on using longterm in short order, and plex an account this way in 6/7 hrs or less if you're at it on both chars.

Good idea, but as with everything in Eve, there are more optimal ways of achieving your goals.

Should i just cancel the mining account and buy a plex.
Based on the phrasing of your question -- YES.

After your other toons get more experience you probably won't have to buy a plex to fund your activities. The only way it makes sense to keep the miner is to train one of the other toons as a miner and the other into an Orca and have your own fleet for when you aren't doing other things.

So the answer from CODE member "Ima Wreckyou" , 2nd post after the OP, does not qualify for the "Trolling" category? This is in the new citizens section, is it not?

Then we wonder why so many new players are having issues when starting with EVE. Right.. Keep wondering.

Read down to post #15 and see if you can't puzzle this situation out for yourself.

I'm all for people getting their panties in a knot when it's justified. That's not the case here. You're just making yourself look dumb.

Oh I'm so sorry.. Did I insult your CODE affiliation so ruthlessly that your argument ends with "dumb"? I promise not to do it again. Really!

As for post #15 yes it does explain what you are trying to imply. Still this is New Citizens Q&A. But maybe I'm just weird. No hard feelings. To each his own I suppose.

CODE is like Suddenly Ninjas and various other corps that no one remembers. They'll be news for a while until they annoy CCP to the point where they do a mechanic change which will make CODE irrelevant. I'd be surprised if anybody remembers them in a year.
