Has anyone tried this yet? Been thinking about getting a 12-core 32GB memory Mac Pro with 4 screens set up for my four accounts.

I have a Mac pro with 48GB RAM, 1 6-core CPU, and dual 30" monitors (2 video cards) and I'm able play with 5 clients.

I do have severe freezing issues with the "native" Mac client. In fact, for me the game is unplayable because of these freezes (which have been happening since I started playing eve almost a year ago).

Currently, I use Crossover for Mac with the windows version of the client, which is rock solid and gives better performance.

Good luck

Using MacPro's with EVE since end 2008.
Have 2-3 windowed clients running at times with usually no problems.

Freezes may occur at times. Having nothing else, NOTHING else, running in the back helps preventing freezes.
Start surfing on the web and you have a fat chance of getting a freeze.

Also I'm still on 10.9.5.

I'm not complaining, after 6 years here I remember things being far, far worse.

Thanks very much for the replies so far.

Yes, in recent weeks, I've spoken to many players in my corporation on TS3 and they've let me know that compared to Mac, Windows may be more stable for running 3 clients or more. I agree, although, I may consider buying a Mac anyway and going with the Crossover solution mentioned, as I've heard many good things about Crossover working fine for graphics.

Maybe not the top FPS, but when you're using 4 accounts like I am, Crossover may be enough.

I can run two clients on a Mac with admittedly less horsepower than this. Runs without issues.

My only problem is that it doesn't seem to really like it when you play on 5120x2880 resolution. First, you need to set the UI to 150% magnification because those windows become really tiny. Then all sorts of weird things start to happen to the screen.

Other than that the Mac client has been working well for me.

If CCP were to make a native Mac client I would send CCP Seagull my first-born.
