Reduce cargo and ship scanner range alot...

I noticed that cargo and ship scanners have very large scan range. I propose that this range could be reduced alot. Cov ops frigates would however gain enormous boost to cargo and ship scanner range. This would make cov ops frigate even more important in intel gathering.

EDIT: Spoke too soon......didn't notice the boost to covops ships. I don't see why not w/ that, since explorers need the range. However as the fellow above said....why?

I was unaware we could allot scan ranges for cargo modules. How does that work? Equip multiple to generate spare range that you allot to one or the other?

Yeah, I would probably reduce or eliminate such a function. Cargo scanners have a long enough range as is, and cov-ops already have a lot of demand on their midslots, so this alloting feature could be taken out.
