Fixed window & Nvidia 970 issue

So I just upgraded my gfx card to an Nvidia 970, I have 2 monitors connected, 1 though the HDMI port and 2nd through the DVI-I port.

If I run one client on the DVI-I monitor in fixed window mode I get a steady 30 fps, where as it should be 60. If I put it into full screen mode it jumps to 60 fps, so I am assuming there is some v-sync issue here. Now this is where it gets weird, if I start a 2nd client running on the primary HDMI monitor the fps on the DVI-I client jumps to a steady 60fps and both clients run at 60 fps. If I quit the client on the HDMI monitor the DVI-I client then sinks back to a steady 30 fps.

Has anyone else come across this issue?

Interval is set to one on both clients, drivers and DX are up to date.

I was running an ati 5850 before this card and had no issue.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

When your PC starts, switch your main monitor to secunday and after that, make him primary again. This usually helps me.

Seems this issue is not new, this thread from 2012 highlights the exact same issue, and I can confirm that disabling aero seems to have fixed the fps issue.

Guessing by the post's by CCP Paradox a fix was being worked on, but unsure if it was ever implemented Sad

Update: It seems to be an issue with aero transparency. It is possible to have aero enabled but disable transparency and the 2nd monitor fps issues stops.
