Not sure if this is the right forum, but closest one I could find.

I have just replaced my 2 old monitors with one new bigger one. And I am still trying to figure out the best way to run 2-4 clients at the same time. Usually I run a combat/scanner combo or 3-4 RR Domi's in WH's. So my focus is usually just one account, but really need to keep an eye on the others. I have tried ISBoxer (yes, I know that is a dirty word around here) for the windows management and it worked well. Just wondering what other people were using. Don't care about the keybinding of boxer, just need something to help manage the different windows.

And why has CCP not incorporated something like this into there game? They realize/push players into running multiple accounts, why not make it where the client supports it?

I can not even image how it look with multi accounts on one monitor. I prefer multi monitors with one account. This look so much better :).

I like the sounds of this except.... With 4 accounts, that would mean 8 monitors. While I am almost certain that would be an extremely cool way to play Eve and would have to help my PvP skills, the amount of wife-aggro that would generate would be completely unacceptable. So I might have to look for a different alternative.

I play in window mode and overlap them in such a way that the important parts are showing from each client, sort of like holding a pack of cards.
My main pilot is in the top right hand corner of the screen, the next one has his overview with drones on top moved to the left of the client and if you position it to the left and a little down you will see the overview and drone info on the left and the mods below your main screen, then do the same with the next client. Its important to see if your drones are shooting or dying and you need to keep an eye on your cap. All pilots are watch listed so I can keep an eye on the damage taken, if CCP would put cap amount in the watch list it would make it even easier.
The main screen does all the fleet warps, etc. I have been playing like this for a long time, tried is boxer.. but just couldn't get it to work for me.
I typically run 2-3 like this, but have done a foursome before.. get a little messy imo after 3 on my screen size.
I do not dual box PVP.. I battle enough with one to pvp.. but I do rat/mission/mine while I pvp
Did I mention I do this on a laptop with a 15 inch screen Shocked.

... What next ??

I use a program called GridMove. It allows me to manage the vastly more screen real-estate available from a 4k Monitor. My normal configuration is 4 sections of 1920x1080 in the 4 corners. This allows me to run four clients on a single 28" screen as if I had four 1080p screens with no bezel.

With some very basic coding you can design custom grids with endless possibilities for your specific needs.

The program is totally free, and while it seems to have been developed for another era (Pre-Windows 7 split-screen window snapping), it works wonderfully for what I use it for.

Gordon - That is how I normally end up doing it now. 2-4 clients stacked, using Alt-Tab to jump between them. It works, just looking for something a little more efficient .

Tash - Thanks, that sounds exactly like what I am looking for. Right now I have a 32" monitor running 1920x1080. So could deal with smaller clients.

I flew with multiple accounts on one monitor for years - alt tabbing between them. I'm currently running six clients at a time, on two monitors. On the left monitor, I have three characters. I tend to keep them all in the same system, flying identical ships, doing the same thing - usually PvE. I use squad warps a lot with them and have gotten pretty good about alt-tabbing to issue new orders. I also use ISBoxer on this screen - toggling it on and off as the situation dictates. I don't typically PvP this way - it is too clunky.

On the right monitor, I have another three characters. Typically, one will be my primary PvPer, the other two will be scouts. On this screen, I use a program called On Top Replica. On Top Replica basically clones part of another character's screen and displays it on top at all times. So, I can set it so that I can see local chat and the overview on my scouts at all times - even though they are stacked behind the one I am controlling.

CCP should add more NPC 0.0 space to open it up and liven things up: the Stepping Stones project.

As for ISBoxer, it is not really a dirty word, except when you are using it specifically for the purpose of keystroke broadcasting.

ISBoxer provides extremely useful multi boxing capabilities such as displaying portions of your multiple screens near each other. A typical configuration is to have the overviews and module buttons from multiple clients stacked together so that it becomes easier to get all your ships targeting and firing together. Then have mini-screens for the secondary clients and a large screen for your main, with an ISBoxer keystroke to cycle the main screen between clients (at least that is my understanding).

heh, I've been meaning to ask about something like that, but I only have 2 accounts active right now and that works perfectly for my 2 screens, but I've been meaning to reactivate another or two. Oh right and my other "dream" use would be 4 clients in 1080 on a 4k monitor Lol
