Having lost interest in industry a bit thanks to all the changes a while back I decided with some more free time recently to return to it a little.
Needing some t2 parts and having some moon goo about I ran an Alchemy reaction again and had everything planned out till I tried refining the results.
so we used to get 90 of one of the inputs back and then 20 of the Intermediate Material.
Now with Scrap Metal refining at level 5 in a hi sec or lo sec station we get 90 moon goo units back and 19 Intermediate Material.

I understood CCP were adjusting the output so it was the same post Crius patch ??
Seems everyone just took them at their word on the "fix" or is it that no one actually bothers with alchemy these days ? Shocked

I found this post which touched on it : Alchemy reprocessing - Is it completely boned outside of sov null?

Cause they decided "(1 + 81%) * 55% = 100% rounded" but seemed to have forgotten "basic CCP math" when it comes to industry in that everything tends to be truncated rather than rounded so the actual result isn't 100% ... it's 99.55% which when applied to the old result is .9955 * 20 = 19.91 which CCP Math equates to 19

Or using the in game calculations 55% of 36 = 19.8 units which becomes 19
Effectively post Crius patch we all got "taxed" 5% for doing alchemy.

Sure can just run more reactions tho that increases the cost and messing about and the MAIN bugbear is those unused extra pieces of puzzle that are too small to actually use ! But i guess you may have to buy or sell the odd unit ... what a joke! Evil

Maybe CCP could check their Math again ?!
Isn't having a testing and quality team supposed to mean they check this stuff out prior to deployment Roll
Easiest option would be to increase the raw yield to 37 ?!

Note that number of batches makes a significant difference now.

Also stations and outposts do indeed round, not truncate, at least for ice and ore.

Example:
* 1x Ice in a station: ROUND ( 0.9 ) = 1 clathrates
* 1x Ice in a POS: FLOOR ( 0.9 ) = 0 clathrates
* 10x Ice in a POS: FLOOR ( 10 * 0.9 ) = 9 clathrates
