... oh please no.

Not a good idea. Skill books are fine as they are. No need to change them or alter them.

Cloaking is the closest thing to a "Pause Game" button one can get while in space.

Yes, you would say that being in the same Goon corp as the author. Roll

well, firstly they're books, so they have that mechanic in common. I just think the Diablo spellbook way of leveling is a more appropriate way to reward players who stay subbed. currently, a character can be skilled to a basic level very quickly, and that doesn't preserve any meaning for older players who take the time to skill things thoroughly.

1. Actually no their not books, they are programs that while they are quick to download take time to write into the brain patterns.

2 everyone that actively plays eve is subbed, just ccp gaves us a 2nd option for people that want to pay to get game currency, while those of us that use ples grind to get the currency to pay the plex buyer

3 and instant form of any leveling by obtaining a book or something is just no, if people focus they can become very effective at an early age.

if we let wow types run this game your going to have 1 month olds in maxed out cap ships and all

I see skillbooks as actually a bunch of nonabots hence injecting them. These nanobots pre prepare synapsis in general patterns conducive to specific actions. The pilot then practices these actions to reinforce the neural pathways created thus improving the skill. Short version: no to instant skill injection...this isn't the Matrix

I would respond with some cheeky line about alts, but I'm afraid I'd be scolded very sternly.

In response to the feature idea, Rain I am constantly impressed by the new ways you come up with to penalize newer players. Making skill plans less flexible because the pilot has a low number of SPs sounds like the perfect way to slow down their progression, since they would have to train higher tiers due to overall lack of other skills to train.

These feature requests must originate from some paranoia or prophecy that you will be assassinated by a new born pilot?
