Unpackaged ships are finally dropping from ship maintenance bays! I had my doubts about this getting in (as it urgently needed to given the release of the Bowhead) for Rhea, but it's there!

You can't board ships directly from the wrecks, which would be nice, but you can launch them and move them to your own ship maintenance bay just as you should be able to.

...that's all. This is a very good thing.

Well I guess there is a little more to say: cargo scanners inspecting the fittings and cargo (charge category only, but this doesn't mean that the cargo's cheap) of those ships would be very nice now that they drop. Whether to fix the double wrap "exploit" I don't know, it probably should go but that's a different issue.

Cargo scanners are cargo scanners and should be left that way. Ship scanning is better, but there should be a window in which you can choose which particular ship to scan, this in maintenance bay, or this flying thru space. Or maybe scripted ship scanners?

That sounds like something CCP would never code. Just making the cargo scanners do deep scans otoh isn't hard.

dear CCP
since i cant find any other thread in the feedback corner about it i might aswell post here

i tested the ship drops with insurances and heres what i found:

- the insurance pays out for the lost hauler as usual
- the assembled insured ship lost in the SMB is not payed out
- the dropped assembled+launched insured ship keeps its insurance if boarded by the owner
- the dropped assembled+launched insured ships looses its insurance if boarded by someone else

did anyone actually think of insurances with dropping SMBs or is it WAI.
shouldnt a existing insurance cover the ship loss if it dies in a SMB in an exploding hauler and doesnt drop?

clarification would be nice.
thx.
