i think i've watched the trailer about 6 times since yesterday. i'll probably watch it again today. i think from a marketing standpoint, this video may do more for pulling in new subs than any other video before it. real players, real situations, real drama.

as i said in another thread - if you don't play eve and you watch this video (assuming you are a sci-fi + mmo fan) and don't end up at least trying it out, you don't have a pulse.

It certainly is an effort, one of the many, to bring Eve back from the dangerous precipice it has been moving toward over the past few years. I think many of the actions lately are desperate efforts to save EvE from what WAS a suicidal path. Efforts that myself and a lot of other capsuleers are very happy to see CCP undertaking. Changes are being made that a couple years ago CCP wouldn't dare consider, and I think that's part of how things got into the mess they are in now.

I too, am happy to applaud CCP on the changes they are making, but nullsec is by no means fixed. Hopefully the upcoming sov mechanics and other undivulged changes do have the oomph required to get Eve back onto a track of growth beyond the temporary spike they are going to be riding from the new release cycle and the jump nerfs.
