Precision Cruise Missiles and PvP

Just had a quick question about precision cruise missiles and pvp, are they viable and do they apply damage to BC and lower ships to a point to justify using them in pvp or should I just always stick to faction? Was doing some dps sim tests and the percisions were able to give me more dps against smaller and/or moving targets compared to faction but haven't actually tested them in-game yet.

Any thoughts or experiences you guys have with using them in PvP?

Stick to Faction but always keep some Precision "just in case."

Generally speaking... drones and target painters/webs will make up for the size weakness that non-Precision Cruise Missiles have.
But then there are situations where you are out of drones... webs are useless and TPs alone are not effective enough. You'll know when that situation happens.

Depends on the ship really. Just remember that target painters are less effrctive than webs inside 10km so account for that if you think you will be facing blaster boats or frigates.

I've seen certain ships with bonuses to painters do well with precision cruise vs even inties. I think the cal navy raven is one of them. We still took it down, but, it took a few of us with it. I remember my corpies being somewhat surprised at how much damage they were taking.

the navy raven does not have a painter bonus. what it does have is an up to 6k volley with ~110m explosion radius and 10km/s missile speed. bad news for destroyers and even frigates if they are webbed and painted. but yea, against bigger targets, you should mostly use faction over precision.

I should buy an Ishtar.
