a pvp vlog, featuring more or less raw footage with commentary dubbed over it. pretty simple, right? pretty awesome, right?!

Arrowto the viewer:
please watch and enjoy, i'm doing this for the eve community! i want for people to watch these videos and take something away, something that might address a question or concern they had about some aspect of pvp, some thing they weren't sure of or maybe even inspire them to get out there and try some of the stuff i demonstrate. and i'll take requests! if there's anything you'd like to see me do, i'll do my best to try it as long as it's not completely outside the bounds of what my current corp does and/or gets me in trouble, because i like this corp Cool

Arrowif you're interested in being more than just an observer:
please contact me in game, i am searching for more contributors who are interested in posting video chronicles of their own adventures to this vlog. my goal is to get as much of the spectrum of pvp covered as possible, and i know that my corp only hits a limited range within that spectrum.

(ask me in game how to get your name listed here)

with any luck and barring any hijacking i'll use this thread as an anchor for my experiment here on the forums, so feel free to bamp

Completely unwatchable. Please get a better microphone and record in fullscreen if you're using fraps.

Buy a new mic. The white noise will kill the majority of people's interest immediately.

Skip first three minutes or so when you blab on about random things. You'll be able to draw and keep more people's attention if you skip the introducing fc's, yourself, and how you shipped stuff to where you wanted to be. You can easily put this in the video description for people who care.

Start with fleet comps then go right into the fight. When your narrating stick to the fight and whats happening. Explaining to us how your looting the field is really terrible. Being surprised that non agressed targets dock before you can kill them is annoying. Look at the really old kil2 voice overs for his videos and you should see a great example of how to run commentaries.

Interesting to watch and listen to. I like the effort and the concept. Vids with commentary are just to rare.

My advice is to try and make higher quality vids so at least the overview is readable. And better quality sound ;).

any higher resolution and it would take years to get them on the internet, as it stands it takes me 2 hours to render and another 2 hours to upload which is honestly becoming prohibitive to how much time i am able to spend actually pvping, as kil2 hinted at

and as for the sound, yeah yeah i hear you, i'm gonna go buy a headset this afternoon

hopefully we're gonna get a fight tonight, and i'll put a video up of it. should be something new and unexpected :)

u think this vid is bad with his mic ?

we have to put up with him everyday -.- :P

idea is solid result eh.

get a working mic and record at atleast 720p so ppl can see whats going on and its fine, rendering doesnt take that long if u dont do much with the footage also uploading shouldnt be too much of an issue either. ppl have broadband these days.

i actually fraps at 1680x945, but youtube rounds down; because it's not at least 1920x1080, it's not 1080p, therefore it's automatically 720p, so unless someone knows a way around that...

also i'm rendering full-size, 30fps 1680x945 h.264 w/aac audio. unless someone's got a better idea about how i should be doing this i don't know what i can improve

edit: headset purchased Bear

bit of a weird resolution, prolly youtube messing with the res to make it 720p is ******* up the quality.

If u can get your video edditing program to make it a nice 720p then youtube should keep it as it is.

Maybe just start a project @ 1280x720 and just scale your footage to that. Youtube is pretty crappy. :P

Render while you cook/eat dinner, upload while you sleep, like the rest of us.
