I know this thread is probably going to get locked, butt-**** it.

Well ******* done CCP, not sure if my opinion is shared, but this is, without contest, the "best" trailer for EVE that has been made - and it's because you've not resorted to theatrical and staged nonsense - it's a combination of some of the best and memorable moments in EVE Online, with 'actual' players expressing themselves in the heat of it all.
And the switching from Null-sec combat, to incursions, to mining, to industry, really shows the depth more so than previous trailers.

Yep, by far the best trailer for eve there is. Possibly one of the best trailers that is actually representative of the game.

It is goooood.

It was clearly re-enactments though. There is one point Hero is going, "Ho hum, we just did something successfully. So. Happy." Then they get pipe bombed.

CCP - Building ant hills and magnifying glasses for fat kids

Not even once

EVE is becoming shallow and puerile; it will satisfy neither the veteran nor the "WoW" type crowd in the transition.

I think the pipebomb situation wasn't staged - I think it was 2 different recordings.

if you watch the new rooks and kings video you hear that exact situation, they were coming back and warped right into the bubble.

I think most EVE players liked this trailer. I have no idea how non-players would respond to it though.

I think it is great, I am going to "force" some co-workers to watch it. Whatever Seagull is doing to raise the bar she needs to keep on keeping on.

It's a sick trailer, very well done, but I think they failed to capture what everyday EVE really is yet again. They've left out the mundane traits for obvious reasons and while I'm sure there will a small sub spike as intended, retention will be low as usual. This is definitely going to get people to play the game, but they'll just leave once they realize the "impossible" newbie hill can't be climbed without massive persistence. They'll get sick of the Ishtar blob train-wrecking their Merlin gang or the Avatar doomsdaying their Cruiser fleet. They'll get sick of grinding PvE or rocks for easy money. They'll get sick of what EVE REALLY is.

Amazing trailer nonetheless.
