perhaps a link to the items would be helpful?

from what I see on amazon it looks like they give you the option to buy either plex or months of game time. With Plex you get plex, with game time It looks like it automatically adds the game time to your account.

Unless they have created rules against selling gametimecodes for ISK, which was what people did with CCP's blessing 6 years ago, you can use it to buy ISK, although it'll be less and you have to go through character trading forum or something like that.

PLEX is easily injected into the game, costs more IRL money, and can be safer to transfer to other players for ISK, unless you haul it inside a shuttle.

For buying actual game time, GTC is cheaper than PLEX.

Don't kid yourselves. Even the dirtiest pirates from the birth of EVE have been carebears. They use alts to bring them goods at cheap prices and safely, rather than live with consequences of their in game actions on their main, from concord to prices

Guy asks a legit question, and asks for help. No need for the snarky "5" or "subtract" responses.

Plex can be sold for ISK, which can be used to buy in game assets.

Game time is just that - game time.....so plex is more valuable because it can be used either for game time or as a means to covert $$$ into isk

I thought CCP got rid of time codes as per http://community.eveonline.com/news/dev-blogs/the-etc-is-dead-long-live-the-plex-activation-code/

Yeah well, buying a plex from for example evetimecode generates an email with a code, that code you then have to use in account management which generates an in game redeemable plex.

It's still a (time/plex)code. Smile

Yes and no. They have stopped issuing them to resellers about half a year ago, but several of those resellers still have them in stock. Those are still being sold and are very much valid. They will stay valid in the future as CCP has stated.
So if you find a redeeming code somewhere on an old long forgotten hard-drive in ten years time, there is a high probability that you can still use it by then...Blink

As it stands now you can encounter three things: Regular PLEX, PLEX Activation Codes (or PACs for short) and the old EVE Time Codes (or ETCs for short). The latter of course getting scarcer as they are in the process of being faded out. More info on that can be found in this Dev Blog.

Also, ETC's can and are still being traded for Isk in the Timecode Bazaar.

So can GTCs.

Now, since people shard PLEXes for game time today, and since PLEXes are nearing 1 bil, it's entirely possible to sell a regular GTC for game time, for say 650 mil, and undercut PLEXers while also making it cheaper on your end to buy the PLEX/GTC, since GTC are 5 dollars less than PLEX.

ok maybe I should clarifly...

Amazon in the us was selling a plex for $20 and then it had a GTC for $15. I was mainly curious if I could buy the GTC and then convert it to plex still. According to the faq, the answer is no. As its automatically applied to your account. which is lame but meh

From the beginning, it sounded like you wanted to sell something that's like PLEX for ISK. Yes, you can do that with GTC. Amazon doesn't instantly apply the GTC to your account. You can hold onto it and sell it to another player for ISK, like the previous links.

If you aren't looking to buy PLEX to sell in game, then no, this wouldn't work. Also, you would be able to get more ISK for a PLEX, but then again it costs you more. Also, there might be limited market for GTC for ISK.

I just bought a six pack. it might drop a dollar per unit from a black friday sale, but market will drop too. I'm calling it, 950 sell is about as good as it'll be until prices recover from a sale slump.

nice doing business with you, Sisi Pee. this tweet made me laugh and decide to give you money out of spite. you owe that chris guy thanks.

something something your'e all nerds.

tl;dr: buy plex. it's gonna slump from a black friday sale.
