Has anyone ever thought to have a translator , such as Google translator, added as a feature in the game so you can
right click someone and select the translator to be able to communicate with people who do not speak the same language? How about a different way to efficiently translate the public and private chat instead of people being separated because of the different languages spoken.

Have you thought about how much time and effort is involved in writing a good translator like Google translate?

No. It. Does. Not. Work.

And please use Google to find these topics, just a week or 2 ago a similar thread was posted here.

My ridicule, heavy criticism and general pale outlook about your or CCP's ideas is nothing but an encouragement to prove me wrong. Give it a try.

I think the bottom line is CCP does not have the resources to implement a better solution than:
  • Learning a language besides your native one
  • Using Google Translate and pasting the (occasionally bad) results
  • Just speaking in English and letting the other party deal with translating it

CCP has already announced plans to discontinue the in-game browser, with CCP FoxFour stating the following general reasoning being too much maintenance involved, and this is a heavily utilized feature being axed:

We get to focus on making cool things instead of trying to maintain a customized browser in the client. Not sure you guys realize just how much work there is in maintaining something as complex as a browser and how much of a security problem for everyone this is.
Maintaining another totally separate and niche feature would likely be a game expansion of its own in work and it would still not be better than the above bulleted alternatives that you are probably doing already; I think their time could be better spent on other F&I.

If you have in excess of 10 billion USD and a team of about 10 linguistics researchers and 10-30 developers, it can be done within 10-15 years.
