Finding a Wormhole

I'm looking for a specific wormhole system, and was wondering how difficult it would be to locate it?

If I knew someone who lived inside, could I just spam a locator agent on them till they popped out of the hole? And if I did, what are the odds of them being in that actual system when the locator comes back?

Maybe I could put out a reward for finding the system? But I would have no idea how much to pay, and it seems the odds of someone scamming me would be very high

Any suggestions? :/

It depends a lot on what kind of wormhole it is. a c6 is fairly easy to find by chaincollapsing anything with a static c6, while a specific c2 is damn hard to find. There are ways though

sleeper loot sells best in jita or amarr. in higher class wormholes (3 and above) the mag loot is worth a lot. They will probebly bring it to jita. Wait for them there, and use a neut to follow them.

you can run locators on all the members and try to pinpoint the region where the wormhole is located.

Big wormhole corps/alliances visit many wormholes. I know narwhals get contracted sometimes to find a wormhole, and maybe others would be interested as well. As for reward.....thats really not my area. Feel free to join DUCK pub channel though and ask around for the contract managers.

I've sold wormhole locations in the past. Back when exploration was my primary activity, I'd actually bother to look to see if anyone was looking for each system I found. Since I was doing it anyway and getting lucky, my standard asking price was 50 mil for a wormhole bookmark to a specific system.

I've also sold empty wormholes before. Good money in that.

We recently found a WT wormhole via locator agents.

This or Join the Corp and hope they are stupid and tell you without makign you wait weeks or months until you're trustowrthy or bribe someone in the Corp who 'owns' it to tell you.

Finding a specific c1 or c2 is literally a needle in a stack of needles and that stack of needles moves every 24 hours or sooner if WHs get collapsed.

we did this the other week with a C1
we were at war with a corp
they came out and had a little play
when they ran, they ran straight back to the hole
a combination of locator and following with an alt narrowed it down to a couple systems
then it was just a case of getting a scanner the systems.....
first wh we found was theirs :)

In case you don't know, Narwhals Ate My Duck is THE original W-Space exclusive mercenary outfit. They are well known in the community (both wormhole and mercenary communities), still maintaining a 100% success rate for contracts undertaken, and thus have the reputation to go with it (i.e. your intel stays private, you will not get scammed, and if we accept a contract from you, it will be seen through until completion)

Ducks have several location "bounties" running pretty much all the time. Come and explain your situation to one of us in private, and we'll assess the difficulty of location for you, and give you a price for actively seeking the wormhole based on that (or decline if it's not worth the time involved actively seeking it), or we can add it to our list of "just in case we come across it" bounties.

The more intel you have on the system the better, and the more money you're willing to offer the better, and if you also require our services to "cleanse" the system after location, it will probably be found quicker ;)

Nobody likes to work their ass off for nothing, so be prepared to pay if you require people actively hunting the system for you, regardless of who ends up doing it.

"Fairly easy"?

Sir, I beg to differ. It still takes a lot of effort and patience.

The odds of finding the correct wormhole by chance is incredibly low and against you. There are 2500 wormhole systems in EvE, all of which have entrances opening and closing daily in random locations throughout all of known space.

As others have suggested, searching this way is in vain. Your best bet is to keep tabs on as many corp members as possible. Watch for when they come online, run agent locators on them. If you do get a hit on them in known space, it's probably not the same system where the WH is, but it "may" be close.

Other options are alt infiltration, bribery, social engineering, and other creative methods. You're not going to find the WH on your own. The only way you're going to find it is to get one of the corps members to tell you where it is. Better dust off that silver tongue cause you're going to need it.

compared to any other class its doable. itll take you hours with a dedicated crew, but its the only class id consider it as a viable option

Didn't anyone else watch Clarion Call 3?

It's hardly a half-hour affair, but definitely viable.

A Class 6 you can find in an afternoon.
A Class 5 you could probably find in a week of chain collapsing for hours each day. (have fun if you want to do that...)
Anything else youre not going to find other than sheer luck, or following an occupant back to their entry.

I beg to differ sir. You can find any class wormhole as long as you shove your probes far enough down the hole. You just gotta be willing to probe as long and deep as you can.

Thanks for all of the replies. I ran a locator on one of the members, and had a neutral alt follow them around for what seemed like hours. Followed him into a dead end system where he dissapeared out of local. Scanned the system, and sure enough, found his hole :)

Well done. You sound like you have the skills to survive in wormhole space itself.
