Just curious - surplus sell off or under-utilization of the ship? I mean I understand a missile based drone boat will never make it into incursions but the Rattlesnake is a competent mission runner.

I see Rattlesnakes in Incursions all the times.. They're a great drone boat.

I had invested heavily into these on speculation when they last got this low, and have been selling out and taking (small) profits.

The ship is decent, but it isn't being fielded in engagements where it is being destroyed much.

Couple that with the changes to the exploration mechanics and a period of relative peace in sovereign nullsec, and supply is high, while demand is mostly a few people buying their first Rattlesnake. We aren't seeing many people buying replacement ones because they used it in a C5 site and got attacked, or whatever.

Also remember that escalations just became more common and easier to complete. The price might well drop even further with increased supply.

Do these only come from LP stores? If so I think they'll bottom out since there are other cash out opportunities.

No, they also drop in nullsec exploration sites and escalations.

This is the primary source of them in the economy. The final overseer in sites can drop these (as well as various other goodies like pirate implants)

I bought out some bros after running The Maze back in 2010/11. Still have my rattler from then. Its worth less now than then.

Rattler sports amazing dps and tank. But its a shield BS. So it won't see front line fleet work until bombs/shields get fixed.

It's not really viable to use pirate battleships as front line ships in general, as the supply isn't high enough to allow for alliance level stockpiles to be amassed.

Even amassing two thousand of the hull would have a major effect on the price of the hull.

I sold 30% of mine at 670m, then 20% at 600m, but didn't get rid of the rest.

Ah well, they are still at 115-120% of what I paid for them. Opportunity cost is as real as an actual loss, but it doesn't feel as bad.
