Overheating modules

I'm having trouble hitting that tiny little green band above modules to toggle overheat on modules, and more often than not I press on the module instead. Is anyone else having trouble with overheating? How do you overcome it? I know I can use the ctrl+alt+f1 shortcut or whatever, but that combination of keys isn't any easier to press.

Practice.

Yes it is a bit small and takes a careful click. Instead you could just overheat the whole rack. Easier to click and often times gets the same thing accomplished. I mean if your tank is failing or you need more dps you might as well overheat the rack.

Does overload rack toggle all the modules in say, mid, or does it toggle all modules that are in the middle "slot" on the UI?

The toggle overheat applies to high, mid and low slots regardless of your UI orientation.

Set up better shortcuts.

Commonly overheated modules...

- Point. To extend range if catching someone who is escaping your grasp or as you come in towards them from range.
- WMD. To GTFO or catch a target
- Guns if in a serious 1v1 / Gank or trying to overcome a rep.
- Tank if primaried.

If you have a gaming expensive mouse or if not keys you don't use on your keyb for other shortcuts then you could map some common cases of the above.

Or practice.

Keyboard shortcuts are customisable. The defaults are terrible. Using mouse to activate modules is terrible.

This.

Even better a modifier ie ctrl-click module or alt-click module would be so easy to implement. Note (if you are in space) that either ctrl or alt clicking on a overheatable module solely just activates it ; therefore these are unallocated modifiers.
