Any ideas?

Please clear your launcher cache.

cleared the launcher cache and it still says cant validate my acct.

Clearing the launcher cache fixed the problem for me. Make sure the button actually worked though. The first time I clicked it there was no effect. The second time I got a dialog indicating the launcher would have to be restarted to clear the cache. If it didn't quit, it didn't clear.
