CCP - now that you're fixing things could you finally improve user interface.

By few simple tweaks which have been mentioned more than once:

+ add short cut key to activate repair drones to target
+ add short cut key to activate mining drones to target
+ add option to disable "apply short cut key to preselected overview item" short cut key functionality as it is pain in the butt.
+ add short cut key to new compare tool
+ add short cut key to orca / similar corporate hangar / ore hangar.
+ add short cut key to "open cargo hold of target"
+ add short cut key to "loot all from target"
+ add clear visual indicator above hud when "jump on contact" is active and going to perform the action when ship lands.
+ add option to disable "approach target on open cargo" functionality as it is pain while salvaging with tractor beams and trying to stay still.

+ add clear visual indicators when orbit/approach/keep at range/jump on contact/etc. is active and on which object/target
+ add short cut key for Scanner window "Analyze"
+ add short cut keys for making selected scanner probes larger/smaller
+ add colour filter option for friendly militia to Overview

Would be cool if your Tactical Overview would draw green lines or circles based on where your ship is heading if you use approach or orbit or keep at range or manual drive.

I've always wanted some trajectoy information to be displayed on tactical.

There are so many cool things that CCP could do with the Tactical Overlay, including piloting your ship accurately, but I don't know why they don't do it.

Homeworld 2's control system comes to mind, that game had awesome UI...

Add a Primary Broadcast System that doesn't involve searching for a name on a laggy overview. Like those windows that pop up when your contact is online except it clicks you onto the Primary.

Besides lag issues it would also help the hearing impaired.

+ make overview settings usable by human beings

Odyssey: Repacking in POS hangars for modules +1,  but please for other stuff too, especially containers. Make containers openable in POS hangars.

Generally UI should be less Right clicky and more Left clicky.
By that I mean less menus on r.clicking. More simple and responsible.

Wouldn't it be cool if there were a subforum dedicated to suggesting new Features and Ideas? Seems like it would be well received.

This would be AMAZING.

Imagine if you could tell your ship to go to a specific point. Imagine if your ship just went to that point and stopped, without piddling around with double clicking this way and that and hitting ctrl+enter over and over.

+ When editing overview settings don't have the overview refresh for every action instead have it wait until a "Save" or "Apply" button is pressed (for faster and smoother editing).
+ When editing overview settings allow for Shift-Click functionality to select/deselect a large range of items at once instead of one at a time.
+ Allow option to extend each row in the overview to display more information on a single target without having to increase the horizontal size of the overview.
+ Allow editing of both horizontal and vertical area where targets appear on screen or prevent targets from overlapping with other non-window objects such as the current system information.
+ Allow for multiple stacked items to be fitted to a ship by holding down the shift key when dragging, i.e. hold shift when dragging a stack of guns to ship to have all guns fitted to ship at once.
+ Redesign ship fitting window to allow greater flexibility in its size, e.g. like every other window in the game.
+ Change the default width of columns in the corporate management window, they are currently way to wide for their purposes and a lack of horizontal scrolling means some columns are unknowable on smaller screens.
+ Allow option to have ship fly in the current direction the camera is pointing.
+ Add HP info for drones not currently in space.
+ Add visual cue for whether or not an object is damaged when in hangar as well as quick indication of how damaged the object is.
+ Add ability to sell multiple items at once.
+ When changing ships inside of a station, the ships should fly away and towards the platform.

All warfare is based on deception and logistics. Battles and soldiers are secondary priorities.
