Until the novelty and bragging wears thin. It will either be worth the kills and ISK or it will become a waste land system. Only game mechanics like Concord have the inexhaustable resources to stop players controlling a system.

EVE is becoming shallow and puerile; it will satisfy neither the veteran nor the "WoW" type crowd in the transition.

trow in some mild RP, and random ads of "yiffing for isk on top station", and the place will be your own deserted cesspool within a month.

Someone has never seen certain alliance fleet chats or forums......lol

I mean, why wouldn't management custom make a system for the waffles? They're such good buds. Lol

We must accommodate the idiocracy.

I'm looking forward to it! I have no care for who "owns" Thera, only that they have things that they need. I have every intention to set up shop on Day-1 and turning it into my new home. If I could be, I would be the first player in Thera when it hits TQ (I've actually already taken the day off from work to make sure I'm in at least on the first day), and I'll be the last player to leave Thera should it ever shut down.

I honestly expect Thera to become a major hub for PvP'ers. It'll be an active battleground with ever-changing routes to K-Space, allowing an ever-changing source of entertainment, but unlike a normal wormhole, there will be no need to worry about losing your everything because somebody mis-set a timer for your fuel, losing 5-10 billion ISK in assets.

My biggest concern with Thera is actually more in regards to available office space and the system industry index. We'll see how that works out, though!

EDIT EDIT: really though, for some group to make a long term stay would take some serious logistics. like finding the random entrances everyday.

Finding entrances will be pretty easy once you have someone inside. It's no different in that regard from any other Wormhole: leave your prober inside the hole so you can always find your exit (and entrance) for anyone outside. There may be several thousand systems that you would have to look through to find a way in, but once you are in, there will be a limited number of ways out, all of which also provide a way back in.

No. Currency in Thera is Blue donutium. The advent of Phoebe has further solidified the hold of the despicable Nullsec Cartels™ on Nullsec and further hardened the Blue Donut™. Now they have set their sites on WH's where they will set up the Blue Hole™ to complement their Blue Donut™.

TBH I think the likely scenario is one of four:

1) A current WH alliance will take it, and use it as a Reaver or Dragon Teeth(ST:VOY) system. Essentially use it to terrorize null, and then move to a new null later. This would be the best option for a pure pvp wh alliance that's doesn't want to deal with moons or caps.

2) It becomes a pirate/pvp haven, for no one group really controls it, and it constantly changes hands. Kinda like a virtual thunderdome. In this scenario it would be used more as a training ground for 0.0 conquest.

3) It gets taken by a large group and used as a free port. I could easily see a CVA type entity doing NRDS and running the system that way.

4) It becomes a ghost town in a year as people give up trying to hold it.

I highly doubt an established 0.0 entity will make an official claim on it. Because if there home systems are being attacked, that group can't assist. And when stuff to npc drys up, as it will eventually, it makes for a boring system.

One of the four I listed is most likely. But players have surprised me in the past, so what do I know
