Please tell me exactly what to do.
Launcher worked fine yesterday, not today.
Do I just install http://cdn1.eveonline.com/EveOnlineLauncher/release/EVEOnlineLauncher_2_1_826897.exe
or do I need to do anything else?

I'm not too good with computers

Doing that was sufficient to fix my launcher problems and let me patch. Make sure you select your existing game directory for the installation.

this problem also appears for me.

it seems a full cache reset tells the launcher to do a re-org of something and the problem goes away.

the problem seem to only happen after every patch minor or major

and it has started ever since 2 major patches ago

1) ccp needs to have a better player setting backup. as the game gets more complex, our settings get more customized
2) there needs to be a new patch fix that will gel the launcher and the patch packages, it is really screwing the launch sequence somehow.

WUT ???

Updated the launcher and it's still launching in offline mode. I tried to run the repair tool but it's not working either. Is there some sort of known connection issues with the current patch?

Install the launcher, accept the defaults, then launch eve like you normally would. It will start patching.

Thanks for the fix CCP Atropos.

Ran into the same problem today. Ran the repair, got errors:

Running the new file does not change anything. I recently reinstalled EVE after constantly having problems applying downloaded patches and repairs not functioning.

What version of the EVE Repair Tool do you have? If it's not 3.52 then try downloading this: http://content.eveonline.com/client_repair/352/repair.exe

Again my launcher is in Offline mode.
Please give me a link to latest Launcher version and/or repair.exe version.
repair.exe didn't help, deleting launcher folder and running repair.exe didn't help either.

Whats WAY odd: Im able to log on with my secondary machine, but it was just coming up in Russia (and Im not lol) finally after a multitude of tries, the russiam one turned to english. Still cant get main pc/acct going. I didnt notice any logfiles

Same issue here, downloadd the most recent launcher, cleared cache, numerous reboots, same thing.

Would like to once again state that this only happens on ONE of my 2 machines.

Launcher now loads in online mode... will not launch the game. Sits there at "launching" and after a few minutes that button changes back to "play."

I have also experienced this issue.

Personally I am following this up with my ISP as I can see the failure on the path to CCP's servers.

CCP - Dev's / Forum admins - I have a nice email trail with my ISP on this as I keep getting failures with there uplink providers. As to why they are not using a routing protocol to correct these errors is beyond me. I will be happy to share this as one of the uplink providers sticks out and perhaps CCP can put pressure on the uplink / interlink provider.

Last night there was a sharp drop at 00:00 hours to 00:10 hours, with a second drop at 00:20. http://eve-offline.net/?server=tranquility shows this clearly on the stats. I was disconnected at this time.

** USING MY MOBILE PHONE TO RECONNECT TO EVE AND DOCK UP IS A PAIN **
The uplink should work from a cabled / home connection - I should not have to drop back to using a mobile / cell phone tether to connect. Equally this is a routing issue, so any assistance / guidance CCP can give would be welcomed especially if they can put pressure on the up link providers to fix there interconnects.

I dont think this could be a routing isue, because as I said earlier, I run the game on 2 computers. The crappy old laptop connects every time with no issues, the slightly less-crappy desktop has the issues listed above.

pls help!

The Generic offline mode error is a failure to connect to the game's servers as I read it. In my case, I can trace it to a specific uplink provider and match the date and time to noticeable drops in eve's concurrent connections.

ohh gotcha! thnks, maybe Ill do a visual route on it too, thanks!

EDIT:

Ran a visual route on it, Im willing to bet it stops off at the same spot as yours, as I've had trouble connecting with them as well.

BUT, still doesnt explain why 1 machine can connect and the other one cant.

Working into Day 2, CCP. Cry

My launcher finally switched back to online by itself, but some images in it fail to load.
The EVE Online direct client shortcut works and connects just fine, so it's not a PC connectivity at all.

I just hope CCP doesn't remove this direct launch workaround, I am personally not using it unless the launcher craps out.

Friend had issue of client starting in offline mode
Fixed by going to
Control panel
System
Advanced system settings
Select the Advanced Tab
Then select settings under Performance
Select the Advanced Tab
Then select Change under Virtual Memory
Then make sure your Virtual Memory is above recommended size
Hope that works
