Greetings. after coming back from a break I reinstalled eve and went to launch from steam and it kepts giving me an error.

502 Error
It appears the website you are trying to visit is having technical difficulties or is no longer available.

Please go back and try your request again or try searching Google to find another website with what you're looking for!

I tried re-installing from the website (not using steam) and I get the same error. has anyone else had any trouble with this? been searching the forums for a while and have not been able to come up with anything. any help would be great.

Where are you reinstalling from.

Up till yesterday (haven't logged in today yet) I had no problems with EVE or updating it.

Might also, if you are are not on a trial account, post this in Issues & Workaround category, as that's where all the tech nerds people hang out

I had some trouble when I tried reinstalling it on a new computer. What worked for me was selecting the repair.exe. I dont remember if it said what error, but it helped.

yeah there is another post about this in the issues forum and there has been no reply on how to fix anything. The problem is it worked fine yesterday and then they patched the game and it wont work. I think it might have something to do with Windows 7 because my roomate is still running XP and he can log in no problem. I am getting really frustrated I installed fresh for the 4th time and ran another repair tool and it says everything is ok. It would be really nice to know if they were doing something to fix this or if it is just on the back burner.

TL;DR this patch seems to be total crap and I hope they fix it by the morning. I have never had trouble with this game till now.

Similar problem for me again, castle. Try deleting eve launcher and empty bin. Then reinstall. It may not reinstall now because it is still downloaded. Again, I had a similar problem and this worked for me, but i cannot garuntee it will work for you too.

Perhaps this page will help you. You could try bypassing the launcher (section 5.1 in the link). Not sure that it applies to steam and don't really know what I'm talking about, so good luck. Big smile

File a bug report with the latest logfile from eve/launcher/cache/

It will most likely explain why you get a 502.

I had a heck of a time DL the Eve content/patch from the launch window. Constant freezing of computer. Went to Eve program and ran the repair program. No problems and all is well. I hope this helps.

I got the 502 error on the launcher, I see the question didn't get answered. In may case at least, it was caused by a malware proxy server installed on the computer. Open Internet Explorer (even if you use another browser) pull down the Tools menu and choose Internet Options, Connections, LAN Settings. "Use a proxy server" should be unchecked, if it is checked then you probably have some kind of malware on the computer. You can try unchecking it, but the malware will probably just reset the option again. The computer will need to be cleaned to correct the problem.

Solved: I had some adware called "Rockettab" running on my PC - once I removed it (using the control panel, uninstall program), the launcher worked.

Hi All,

So I had this 502 error white page and serch option instead of the launcher login issue.

i think i found why it is happening, i belive it to be some 3rd parrty software installed from another download, like adware or shopping overlay that work with chrome or firefox.

and when i removed it launcher working again as normal.

Give it a try and hope it sloves the problem for you all

Fusion out.

Speaking of malware never install any ad-search bars or other such crap because some of those are impossible to remove without reverting to a previous save state.
I had a one and no matter what I did It kept sending me straight back to some BS-startup page of it's makers, best part was that ad-removal programs where like nothing was actually wrong but at least I didn't had to knife the registry like I had to do with older windows versions.
