Atari 2400? Myth? Typo? A Regional Export Model?

Atari over the years produced a few consoles.

The famed 2600, 5200, 7800 on through to the Jaguar.

In some corners of the internets i've seen it suggested that there were export models, particularly of the 2600. These models featured differing branded numbers at least judging by internet Atari aficionado forum posting.

Given the differences between PAL, SECAM, NTSC, and that it's not strictly uncommon for various forms of electronics / products to have differing model names or designated model numbers for various technical / marketing reasons, i'm quite readily open to the notion that there was a 2400.

Still. Limited information seems available aside from some long gone ebay sales / photo's, and the following thread here:

So, purely as a matter of trivia and general interest, can anyone shed any light on the existence of the Atari 2400 ?

Myth? Printing error? Export Model?
