The Confessor - Amarr Tech 3 Tactical Destroyer

I believe I giggled like a little girl seeing this being announced. What are your all's thoughts on skill needs and the general Idea of the ship with current info? As for me I immediately switched gears to max Amarr destroyer skill and any skills I was missing to get the interdictor to make the next step as short as possible to be able to fly this beauty after release.

Well its going to need Amarr Destroyer V and probably about 3 or 4 total ranks of "stuff" trained to level V to inject the Amarr Tactical Destroyer skill. Like Spaceship Command V and Weapon Upgrades V or something like that, maybe with one or two somethings to IV thrown in as well for variety.

The Amarr Tactical Destroyer skill itself will probably be rank 5 per/will.

I too am hoping for a laser boat. As much as I love the Heretic as a missile boat I want me some advanced laser destroyer love.

Personally I am very curious to see how much base warp speed it will get. For the purpose of blitzing lower level missions and the SoE epic arc.

Yeah right! Cause T3 cruiser subsystem skills are rank 5? I'd go hide in a corner had I written so much BS.

It's curious I'd say.

Strategic Cruiser Colour of choice is Rank 5
Advanced Cruiser of choice colour of choice are Rank 6 (HAC HIC Logi Recon)
Cruiser Colour of choice is Rank 5

Interdictors is Rank 5
Destroyer Colour of choice is Rank 2

While Strategic Cr have their subsystem skills, explaining their "lower" SP needed for a more complex skill (while factually they are Rank 10), Tactical Destroyers will not have those. As such I recon Rank 5 would actually be realistic. Either Destroyers and or Interdictors have a weird skilllevel though (3 and 4 respectively would be more in line with the SP requirement progression ... but BCs are plagued by the same problem).

Not that I care a whole lot - with currently 309 diferent skills total at 43m SP I doubt I'll have to train something radically new and or different.

Because the T3 destroyer is using subsystems..... (it looks like it's not) did you even watch the o7 show? It looks like there is going to be only one skill for the hull and no SP loss on death. You know, like a T2 hull.

My guesses are based on the general training pattern of interdictors, interceptors, HACs, and AFs. Then again maybe Rise and Fozzie will go on a pub crawl the night before they come up with the training requirements and do the skill planning while hungover (or still drunk) the next day. I think this is highly unlikely but you never know.

If you need a corner to hide in after demonstrating your total lack of knowledge of the topic at hand I think I can recommend a few places.

My guess is that the Tactical Destroyer Skills will be either rank 3 or rank 4.

I think rank 4 makes a certain amount of logical sense, being 1 rank below the Interdictor skill book.

But since when has logic had anything to do with skill requirements..

if you look at the image you can see 4 hardpoints at the front of the t3destro,which could leave us with more mids and lows.

I hope for lasers, too. But I could live with it if the Confessor comes with both, for more versatility (since we can't change the non-existent subsystems).

Let's lean back and wait, over the next weeks more info should come out.

one skill would be nice.

I still think they will have a base requirement of destroyer V and a skill for each role the ship can do. So three new skills per ship.

For those of you talking about the rank of the amarr tactical destroyer skill; CCP specifically stated it would be similar in training time to a t2 frigate skill. So, probably rank 4.

For those of you talking about lasers versus missiles, given the range modes, and the role of missiles, it should be pretty clear that it will be a laser boat.

For the people who think that it will be able to use missiles or lasers because it is a t3, no. It is not similar to the strategic cruisers in that it is not a customizable platform with subsystems and slot changes. It is a fixed layout, that can assume different 'modes' to favour speed, tank, or weapons range.

That doesn't mean it can not have as many Turret AND Launcher-Slots as Highslots. Now, if it has a bonus to both you can choose what to use
