As far as I know, you cannot mail a bookmark.

However, you have corporate bookmarks now for sharing, plus you can contract a bookmark to anyone.

Yeah that's been my experience.

You can put an image of a bookmark in an EVE mail ... but that's all it is. It doesn't work. You can't drag it into your people and places and have it work. So it's worthless.

At one time in EVE's early history, I've been told - that you could manually enter the coordinates for a bookmark, which allowed you to go exactly where you wanted to go inside any system - as you would expect a space ship to be able to do - rather than be dependent on getting a bookmark by dropping them while in warp between celestials or other bookmarks, creating them while in mission space or during exploration.

The way it is now - is so ******* stupid it's beyond belief - but people are used to it ... so they accept it.

Think about it. Why the **** can't you just tell your space ship exactly where you want it to go inside a system?

My understanding is that instead of simply setting bounds on the numbers that could be entered to keep people from creating deep safe spots (which people subsequently figured out how to do anyway until they removed that option) they just removed the option for you to manually enter the coordinates of the location you wished to warp to. Better to make life easier for the programmer than have a common sense bit of functionality in a space ship game ...

But - whatever ... they never had it since I've been playing. I just wondered why it worked the way it does and asked around. So I'm just another one of the sheep blithely following along the path CCP has dictated for me ... The Sand Box - Being A Lie ...

Hello Slick Novasizzle,

If you are looking to give a bookmark there are three ways to go about it.

1) Trade it to them(in-station or by contract)
2) Be in the same fleet with them and have them warp to you so they can bookmark it.
3) Be in the same corporation(Non-NPC) and add it to corporation bookmarks.

To trade the bookmark first open your People and Places Tab go to Places. Find the bookmark that you want to trade and press shift and drag it into your items hanger in station. This will make a copy of the bookmark and give a physical thing to trade. Then find the other pilot you wish to trade with and right click > Trade and then give them the bookmark.

I hope this answered your question. If you have more questions about bookmarks please visit http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Bookmarks
