Oh ok, that's not too bad at all. Air fair from west coast Canada is a bit more expensive though. Where did you fly from?

I found airfare from Western Canada for $1211 return. That's a damned good price. They ranged up to $4000 round.

So the early bird tickets are now available. Cool! I'm looking forward to attending again this year.

Is there an ETA on when Icelandair will be putting up their packages? Last year was very simple to book - everything was through the Icelandair website. Flights, hotel, golden circle tour, blue lagoon. All in one place.

Is there plans to do this again?

Eugene

As far as I know, Icelandair packages will be available shortly (I don't have the exact ETA yet, unfortunately) -- however, Fanfest tickets will not be included in those deals. The only way to get them is through the Account Management page.

EPIC, EPIC fail CCP for those of us that bought our flights yesturday (me)!!!

I had a look at the fanfest prices, they seem reasonable as a whole.

But I can't help sneer cynically at the "go out with a dev drinking" experience for X amount of euros. Seems a little hackney and forced. If thats your thing, more power to ya, who am I to judge.

Its worth it.

Last year they gave us enough free booze to more than cover the cost before we even GOT to the pub, not to mention how insanely fun it was.

CCP Affinity if you read this I still demand an Irish pub crawl theme this year!!!! xD

The price for the pub crawl are more of a cover charge. We are not making any profit on it, just getting less sober with you guys.

I wouldn't sneer - the pub crawl is a lot more fun than you might think. You get free drinks too, along with that Brenavin stuff (however you spell it).

Thanks for the update Spitfire - I'll check out the packages when they become available!

Do options exist for those of us who cannot / will not drink alcohol, and therefore will never attend events like the pub crawl?

I'm already messed up in the head, adding the potential for alcoholism (due to family history) is not my idea of a good time.

Last year there was a non-alcoholic "pub" crawl which hit local coffee shops and a place that made waffles for us. It was pretty damn awesome.

Even without the drinking, the pub crawl gives a good opportunity to have normal conversations with devs outside of the regular fanfest context. People who did it last year were very happy to have done it generally.

I'm still wondering attending the pub crawl or not in 2012... I mean last time I attend, doesn't appear as a "must do" to me...

What a pitty. I think I can figure out cheapish connection between Easyjet + Iceland Express at Gatwick.

Well, you can fly Iceland Express from Gatwick at not so expensive prices. And flights to Gatwick are usually quite cheap (19€) with Easyjet.
