short and simple..

you should get a notification
Arrow if a CO with your stuff in it switches to reinforced mode (maybe its in your interest to help to defend it, watch it blow up or get your stuff out of it in time)
Arrow if the planet you are doing PI on gets a new CO from a different corp
Arrow when the tax changes (max once per downtime)

CO is like a service from a third party. It should be discoverable and transparent in what it does in the third party's own interest.

how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value

I like the idea, there may be issues with doing this but I will bring it up with the team in the new year.

Can you put stuff in a CO without having a launchpad in the planet? If so, this makes it trivial to keep track of every CO reinforcement in your region. Just drop one unit of PI material in each customs office, wait for notifications, show up for fights.

I'm not sure that's a bad thing: the visible reinforcement timer is working great to bring random fights at customs offices already. And more fights can only be good. But maybe it's too much intel, too easily?

All good points that were raised repeatedly in the initial POCO threads.

In addition, we should be able to see how often a particular POCO has changed hands, past owners (think "employment history" type list) along with the ability to see a history of the tax rates.

And you should only get notifications for planets on which you have a command center. Otherwise you have no dog in the race and don't deserve the free intel.

Good idea which should simplify matters. Mostly posting to bump this thread.

Few people understand the psycology of a highway traffic cop. Your average speeder will panic and immediately pull over to the side. This is wrong. It arouses contempt in the cop heart. Make the bastard chase you. He will follow.

Would be nice if these notifications could come with messages, especially the new owner and new tax ones. "Hi we now own this planet but dont worry you will still be able to do PI, contact us for standings" or "Sorry about the tax increase to 7.5% but we expect to return it to normal levels in 1-2 months" kinda stuff.

/agree with OP.

I on the other hand don't like the timers being seen in all of system and I think no more intel than necessary should just be handed to people. There is a whole area of the game which is that of gathering intel and some people really enjoy it. I think while posting timers is adding something to the game, it is also taking something from at when viewed from a different perspective.
