I would not take KK related items as evidence of being of recent construction. it only signifies recent occupation.
As for using contemporary items in their construction. I will accept that as evidence, though I am not sure I would completely rule out the possibility of older construction and alter refurbishment. Even if these are new constructs, why build them to our designs and/or use our equipment?

An old question, and one that should perhaps be looked at. If these are new sites, then it is something to worry about. Here we can suggest a new question. "Is there a connection between this site and Sleepers?"

If we are to apply logic to this problem , let us apply logic. This type of site--one that includes Sleeper and non-Sleeper technology--is not unique. This is the first example in New Eden. If it IS new, it is something that should worry everyone. It is also likely to assume that if this is a "conscripted" site used by Sleepers, that other sites could be corrupted.

A fifth facility was raided at 1855hrs today, 17.11YC116, in the ARBX-9 system in Paragon Soul. In this instance, my associate had identified several exploration craft in the area before, but I can only assume that they weren't up to the task of locating and penetrating the facility, or that a preference for salvage over technical data meant that they weren't looking for signatures of the class the limited Sleeper cache occupies.

In brief, in this facility my associate located schematics for a polarized small pulse laser, assorted science-related skillbooks, assorted robotic assembly modules, etc. Some additional image captures were provided. Namely, we now have multiple shots of the facility identified as a 'storagemaintenance chamber.' Please note that we have conflicting information from these images. In the first place, heuristics identify this as a 'storage maintenance facility,' which is probably a first-run assessment of purpose and capabilities. The third image linked indicates that the facility is a 'Sleeper thermoelectric converter,' and has been in space countless years. Those who have explorer Sleeper facilities in wormhole space will know that this description is fairly standard for structures of the type, and indicate that this is a fairly standard sleeper construction.

No other structures in the facility indicate age.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure how conclusive this is. This could be a heuristics error; it could be a structure moved from wormhole space to known space; it could be that the structure has in fact existed in known space for countless ages.

It remains true, however, that there exists no reason for the facility to exist save storage of acquired materials. Given that these depot structures are of modern pattern, unless the Sleepers had a range of facilities in known space for eons that we simply haven't detected that they are now repurposing, it seems reasonable to conclude that the facilities are of relatively more recent appearance.

I simply can't believe that the Sleepers would coexist with us for centuries, millenia, without betraying their existence prior to this point. That this would be the case but their security would completely, catastrophically fail across the cluster beggars the imagination.

Logical parsimony. In this case, the simplest solution is that Sleeper equipment has been recently relocated to known space as they begin investigating those who have been colonizing and raiding wormhole space these past few years.

Edit; I failed to address a few points. In the first place, Echo, the answer to the question of a tie between Sleepers and Talocan is a resounding yes. Sleeper and Talocan ruins exist in parallel in some wormhole systems. Ergo, there is a link. What this link is, we really don't know.

Yes, there is a tie between these sites and the Sleepers. At the very least, Sleeper equipment is the sole reason these sites have been previously concealed, and the sole reason they are accessible.

That said, your use of the term 'corruption' is a bit inaccurate. These aren't facilities suborned through infection or magical thinking. This doesn't mean they have some new ability to infiltrate and suborn those who actively resist. Maker, we haven't even seen a Sleeper drone in known space! And I can only imagine that if these drones were wandering around, or attacking targets at a whim, we would have heard of it by now.

So-- really.

I can support all of Ms. Priano's reports. These are the most complicated networks to penetrate that I've yet to encounter. Failing a breach can result in destruction of the storage units, electrical shorts that are powerful enough to damage your ship, and also something else I'm not quite sure of...

Thankfully the gas is not all that damaging and can mostly be avoided though if you're not paying attention you could potentially end up losing your capsule.

I found the site untouched from what I could tell, besides the catastrophic failure inside the second "room". A failed attempt at accessing the hyperfluct generator started a 2 minute self destruct countdown, and I was unable to successfully access it before the whole thing detonated. However, I was still able to get close enough to a spatial rift that flung me into the next area.

The next area was much as Ms. Priano and her associates have described. The only other things I noticed was that there was also a multiplex forwarder inside, as well as the pressure controls only worked for 2 to 3 minutes before the pressure increased and couldn't be turned back down. Finally, after turning down the pressure I maneuvered towards the storage unit that I scanned containing the most valuable items and, as I approached, a large forcefield bloomed out from around the storage unit from power generators. This prevented me from entering until I hacked the defense systems and the forcefield dissipated, allowing a final hack on the storage unit before retrieving the contents.

In the end I recovered a 'Greaves' Medium Armor Repairer Blueprint (which performs the same as a tech-two variant but with less power-grid requirements), 3 Sleeper Foundation Blocks, and 2 Neural Network Analyzers. From the looks of it, my facility was also storing other modern "named" weapons that you can buy anywhere for cheap (railgun, blaster, and rapid light missile launcher), while also storing large quantities of an unknown element. My Astero was unable to detect what the plasma in space was formerly, but it begs to ask why they would store something so volatile in a place like that. I don't see it so much as a defense mechanism but something else.

I can confirm two sightings from Minmatar high-sec space. The first time someone else cleared it before I could pin it down. The second time the site contained just one Hyperfluct Generator which I sadly failed to hack on the first attempt, which in turn set off an auto-destruct sequence. As I noticed the warning after pondering my options for a while already, I was sure I couldn't make a second attempt and left the scene before it could blow off my arse.
