Ignoring lay person, mainstream characterisations of political issues.

EVE art isn't that fantastic. It's a bit sparse and minimalist, if anything. Why is anyone surprised it's not winning awards? I prefer it this way.

Ahem any sexual relations in the military with another person on the job or on military property is a dissimissable offense. Ask all those heterosexual incidents on the job and how long they get to stayed afterwards, not a single one of them.

In an ideal world health insurance wouldnt be needed to pay for bodily repairs. Paying out of pocket would be feasible and sufficent..

Now incarna and dust are likely to win more art awards than eve sadly.

Dust 514's CPM 1 Iron Wolf Saber Eve mail me about Dust 514 issues.

You all live with your a$$es up your head. The Empire still rules the waves, anyone else who has never been a nation of this Empire are on the outside looking in. Any nation that tries to challenge our supremacy will be squished. Blink

+1 for focusing on art instead of graphics

Has CCP really done anything about it's art in the past few years? All I'm seeing is graphics.
…yes, a lot of the post-trinity model and texturing updates were also art updates.

We've gone from a technicolour universe into one that's more dark and brooding, with a more consistent theme in the looks of the empires, and a sliding scale of “darkness” to represent how you move away from the civilised areas. Also, some of the model updates have moved (ever so slightly) towards more defined shapes for each faction — Caldari have become more solid bulk and (yes) more symmetrical; Gallente have become even more curved than before; Amarr have become (again, ever so slghtly) more about large, sharply defined surfaces; Minmatar… haven't change much — maybe a tendency to go for more/smaller solar panels and pieces of scaffolding, rather than the big and very obvious bits they had before.

Any amount of eye-candy does not define the playability and longivity of a PC or console game.
Sure, it's great to see and say "Wow, that looks awesome!" but seriously now, you play a game like that for what, at most, 6 months if that at all.

Eve may not have the eye-popping eye-candy of modern games, but the interaction, the playability, those are the important success factors.

Long live EvE.

My theory is that this game nods to that scene from Soilent Green where the old dude is in that big room looking at nice videos and hearing that nice music while he dies.

You got good graphics, nice space music - and you get ganked to it. Twisted

MSNBC? Thank your lucky stars they haven't. Those liberal idiots would have this game shut down.

Do you know how I know you're an American?
For some reason you chaps have a very weird idea about liberal people, probably the fault of your mass media or schools, but you seem to think they're out to get you.

In short, anyone who is actually properly liberal wouldn't bat an eyelid about Eve, infact they'd probably encourage it.

Do you know how I know your European?

Because you fail to understand the difference between today's statist, victimhood, life owes me a living 'liberals' and yesterdays more libertarian bent true liberal that was in favour of everything pretty much as long as it didn't hurt anyone else.

In America when they mention the word 'liberal' they are talking about the former NOT the latter as you seem to refer them to.
Read up and keep up and you will be able to determine these nuances yourself and not embarass yourself in public with gross stereotyping a nation of 320 million people purely because of your arrongance on the subject.

They sound like arch conservatives than liberals. The only people who ever want to ban anything are either far right or far left because it conflicts with there view of the world; usually those on the right more than the left.

For all you non americans there are 5 political flavors to be found and a mix of each.

1 Extreme Conservatives - These mostly made up americans are the imagination of most liberals as people who would like to keep things like they where in 1800s. Liberals often label them as Rascist bigots and rich money bags and just more recently labeled them as domestic terrorists.
Popular Example: Westburrow Baptist Church

2 Conservatives - People who generally dont like idea of suffering at the expense of less deserving people. Would rather make everyone work for what they earn. They also know that mankind will never learn its 'lesson' and always prepare for the time it fails its lesson in a very horrible manner, also recently labeled as domestic terrorist.
Popular Examples: Glen Beck, Donald Trump.

3 IDGFs - Or independents that lost all faith in the government. Doesn't belive in its policies and definetly cant rely on it to solve thier own problems.
Popular Examples: The average American telling Wallstreet Protestors to occupy a desk.

4 Liberals - People who belive mankind needs to learn its lesson and has a chance that could do so and belive in equality however knowing that not everyone is onboard for this they force this idea onto others via taxes and programs.
Popular Examples: Wallstreet Protestors (mostly)

5 Extreme Liberals - People who belive in what liberals do to the point that they weave this intricate fantasy of world peace thats unshatterable up and beyond the point of getting killed by the very people that cannot share thier vision. They are also intolerant of anyone but an extreme Liberal.
Popular Examples: Chris Mathews (though he may be breaking out of it depends how much more obama disspoints him)

And according to last breakdown from a liberal college in california.
10% in catagory 5
10% in catagory 4.5-4
20% in catagory 2
15% in catagory 1.5-2
5% in catagory 1
and 40% in IDGFs

In reality, most americans unless previewed as total idiots do not sterotypically fall entirely in any of the catagories. Expect most to be a mix between 2-4 leaning to any of the three catagories between.

To note
MSNBC is a catagory 5 channel and should not be taken seriously
Fox is 1-3 be careful they like to jump the gun on this channel.
CNN is 3-2 they at least do some homework.
ABC is oddly 3-2 they used to be 2 solely is probably the most american news channel there is.
AP is very much a 3 and it should be high on the consideration list.
BBC is a mixed bag depending on the topics. Sadder still to get more american news (as in different stories) out of BBC news than all the other american channels.

I'm gonna copy/paste this into a word doc and save it on my hd before it gets nuked by mods. +1 to you.

Regarding art and graphics, EVE's is rather dull tbh, it's got hundreds of systems that only differ in static background pictures. If you've ever watched any sci-fiction series/movies (or even just science fact documentaries) you would've known there's a lot more out there: black holes, multiple star systems, comets, _moving_ asteroids, planetoids, asteroid rings, planet rings, different star classes (not just color), space events (ok, i know some of those are rare, but they sure are fun: black hole gobbling stuff, super novas, gamma ray bursts, comet/asteroid/meteor/planet <-> planet/moon collision), gravitational pull (wouldn't slingshots be fun?), planets that are more than just mini-games (PI) or even worse Sony games (DUST).
