A Security status idea

o/ All,

I read a lot about security status crime&punishment and how much people is pissed off (Specially carebears), so i had this crazy idea to try to fix the tears and create content.

I think we should remove the entire tags for security sistem, not only because fight rats its boooooring but also because allows people to just buy they in the market, making those with big passive incomes less involved into working around their status.

The idea is to remove the sec status gain for killing pirates and only raise it from NPCs doing some specific missions. Also, give some collateral effect to security status, discounts on some purchases or something minor like that, perhaps give harder treatment to those with low sec status in hi-sec, long story short, make hi sec status more desiderable and low sec more crippling.

With this in mind, the idea is to fast increase the security status killing players with low security status, working like the poor bounty sistem work, the increase in you security status is defined by the ISK value of the ship you destroyed and the security status of your opponent (You will lower your Status if you kill someone with positive status).

Of course this can only be done in low sec, the place where pirates (And wan´t to be reedemed pIrates) should live. Perhaps Concord can make some places more atractive than other´s giving a bonus to the security status increase in some areas moving the PVP from one point to another from time to time. Of course, if you are in a fleet and in the same sistem you divide the status increase among all the participant of the fleet.

I think this Idea has several benefits:

1) Increases the utility of the security status (Right now isn´t really important)
2) Forces the pirates into PVP with other pirates creating content.
3) Perhaps it has the potential to create a corp around this idea (Corps that fight other pirates for you while you get the glory)
4) Creates a huge ISK sink since the only way to raise you sec status fast enough is to destroy ships.

On the other hand, i wonder if could exist a group of NPC pirate corporations whose standings can only rise killing player with high security status. OFC they wold give some benefits similar to those who will get the players with high sec but only in low or null sec. Those NPC should grant some kind of loyalty points not trough mission running but by killing players, as they are opposed to CONCORD and their opressive forces they make a distintion between Low and high sec players and they reward with loyalty points based on the ISK value of the ship and the security status of the victim (As more status more loyalty points). Perhaps those pirates have different bases around null and low space and you should fly to they and buy a document that allow you to gain loyalty points trough killing for let say 1 week before had to come again to the base.

No, blowing up ships isn't an idk sink as idk goes to another player
tags isn't Passive income and the fee with them is an idk sink removing isk from the game
and lastly not many ganker care about their sec status as they undock, warp to insta from station, warp to alt or gate and blam

better idea,

1)Close the npc corp chat
2)Drink heavily to forget everything you learned from there
3)join a player corp

Feedback and Ideas thread my man. However this is more of a fix for the bounty system than it is high sec.

you start off by saying you have done a lot of reading in the C & P forum and you then expected people to be helpful and insightful ? I suggest going back and 'reading' how c&p forums go because one this does not belong here unless you want to be punished for your crime of wrong post placement. We don't need no crazy ideas around here son, just tears from the carebears. o7

This is sage advice that OP should deeply consider heeding.

Piracy revolves around stealing and/or destroying other peoples valuable stuff not around cruising with your ship in lowsec and fighting other pirates.

As long as Highsec is so safe that people comfortably undock and autopilot ships worth billions of ISK it will be a magnet for people who are willing to sacrifice their ships to get the carebears hard earned money. No amount of nerfs will change that. As history shows it just makes the carebears feel safer and undock even more valuable loot pinatas.

+1

And even more, this is what is intended to happen - criminal pirates are suppose to prey on highsec residents. Your premise that that this is a problem that needs to be curtailed is at odds with the design of the game.

Personally, I think the tags are an excellent system. They make a mini-profession of "tag farmer" which draws people to low-sec to make ISK. It should be expanded to other forms of tags for other types of standings to encourage more people to leave highsec.
